Hi, my husband and I are in Queens now..we will be moving to East Brunswick, NJ this month. I am pregnant with my first baby....I would like to meet some moms here and share experience together :)
I\'m living in queens, baby due date is in May. I need to get a second opinion from an ob/gyn dr in queens or manhattan. Do u know any good female dr? Quite urgent! Thanks
NJ property tax is really high, we are paying 14k per year for property tax now, but in exchange it provides a better environment for the children. Renting is a good idea to start off with, since you are not familiar with NJ, i would suggest, rent an apartment in Jersey City, Harrison (few stops away from Grand Central by PATH train), although the school districts are not good in these towns, but at least they are closer to nyc, and since you have a new born, so no need to worry about schooling for at least 3 yrs. after settling down, then look into buying a house in a good district.
Ridgewood, Millburn, Livingston, etc, these are the good school districts in NJ. about 30-45 mins from Grand Central (by bus/train)go to google and search "nj monthly school rankings", it gives you a full list of NJ school ranking.
Hi All, I will be a father in Nov. I work in NYC and consider to live in NJ as my wife and myself think staying in NYC that is not good for children to grow up. The most important thing is we are staying in a studio flat now so for long time we need more space for the children. The main concern to us is education. Any suggestion which district in NJ having good school, good environment and easier to get me to NYC as I need to be in office at 8 a.m. every morning. Also we prefer rent before buy as NJ is the highest property tax in the nation. We worry how to effort it after retired.
