I had trouble with breastfeeding with my first son. I didn't have enough milk and had to top up and express. That was so hard and I did it for 8 months (I gave up one session of express and my milk dropped to a level that made breastfeeding no longer viable.)
So I give myself small goals this time and it's going well. I am fully breastfeed and needs no express. Now that I have passed 6 weeks, 3 months, my next goal is 6 months.
If all things go well (which it looks like), I hope to do at least 1 year. That way, I do not have to introduce bottles or formula.
As baby was born in June - our winter in Australia, I am hoping to breastfeed till at least Spring - so September 2013 is my next goal.
After that, I will see how I go. As this is my last baby and the breastfeeding is going well, there seems to be a feeling of not wanting to let go. So will see.
I admire all the express mums ... add oil, I know how hard it is.
