Very details, many thx
我都想買O記12-50zoom鏡,諗緊買一手定二手
I think 2rd hand is more acceptable.
One thing, u might find that 12-50 would be sold at a cheaper price in combination with the omd body, i.e. ~6800 -7000.
In fact, the image quality of EP3 kit len is acceptable. Nonetheless, there are another options in the mkt as listed below:
(1) Pana 12-42mm
I haven't used it but we can draw a clear conclusion that its quality is similar to the EP3 counterpart by searching len analysis from the internet.
If you have already had a EP3 kit, please don't consider this len.
(2) Panas LUMIX G X Vario 12-35mm F2.8 ASPH. POWER O.I.S
Credit has to be given to its big aperture character which provides you a lot of advantages in capturing under low light conditions. It bears premium metallic structure which might have better hand feels.
However, its image qualtiy is not much better than the others according to some analysis report from the internet. Importantly, it is really expensive whereas the second-hand price is around $6000.
In purview of Q/P ratio, it is not the best choice.
(3) Pana MIX G X VARIO PZ 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 ASPH. Power O.I.S.
It provides the same range of choice (1) but it is indeed a better len. For example, the image quality and flare control ability is higher.
However, it has an electronic zoom dial replacing the ordinary focusing ring. It implies that you can capture videos in a more silent way but could not render MF photography. It's a pity.
Of course, if MF/ordinary image composition is not necessary to you, it is quite good especially you like to have something small and handy.
(4) Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12-50mm F3.5-6.3 EZ
It refers to the kit len of Olympus flagship (OMD EM5), made by metal and bearing weather proof character. It is sold (2rd hand) around $1600-2000.
Of course, its quality is better than the EP3 kit len. Nevertheless, don't think that it is the best in this pool which I have even thought frankly.
(5) Pana LUMIX G VARIO 14-45mm F3.5-5.6 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S.
I use this len as the permanently mounted partner to EP3 after a lot of research by surfing the internet, because:
- Excellent image quality (even better than (4))
- Excellent flare control ability (even better than (4))
- Built-in len stabilization system which is important to EP3
(you have to turn off the innate stabilization of EP3 in advance; If you have OMD, of course you should use the built-in 5 axis IS)
- Price is cheap (2rd hand) around $1000-1300
- 52mm diameter which makes your EP3 more balanced
