Do anyone have friends recently migrated to Australia under the skills migration scheme?
I have a teacher in the USA and she recently met the Deputy Council of Australia Consulate. He told her that it is nearly impossible to migrate to Australia now and he suggested us to go to Canada instead. I dunno why he said so. But all the migration companies in Hong Kong have stopped applying for skills migrations to Australia for their customers. It seems that there are some issues behind this.
So do anyone of you have updated experience of skills migration to Australia?
I see... Skills migration as a health professional...
Yes, as I understood, it will be more and more difficult but it is still possible for the health professionals because there is always a shortage of medical professionals in the country... so I dunno why the deputy council said so...
Hi I have my skill visa granted this year. It is not impossible to apply under skill migration. It is becoming more difficult. Now you have to match the shortage skill in Australia. Once the profession is classified as shortage skill, then you have to express your interests. Government will then invite you to submit the new application.
They have just changed the policy at the beginning of July. So consultant might not want to take risk. If you are interested, I can refer you to my consultant in HK. But there is no guarantee until you speak to him.
On the Australian Immigration website, there is a list of official migration agents.
Back some 2 years ago, when I think of applying skill migration visa, I contacted some of the agents in HK but many of them replied that they stopped working on this area. However, they will do so for Business migration applications.
In fact, all the information required could be found online in the immigration website, and you can actually lodge the application by yourself.

as health professinal now to apply skill migration is really difficult due to you need to have good ielts result like all 7 or all *, in the same time they asking for working experience in australia, but if you are holding TR, is difficult to find a job in area health now................
I've my skill migration visa granted (without any conditions) and have made the first entry into Australia in June this year and returned to HK a few days ago. I wonder if I've to notify any department of this information? Besides, if I made a permanent move to AUS, do I have to contact any department to let them know?
Just one more question, I'm the main applicant of the visa, can my wife and child move there first? If so, after staying for 4 years, can they apply for the citizenship?
