My friends say I need to bring some bottles of mineral water for milk too. Is it neccessary? If I stay at hotel, how would yoy sterlize the bottles. Can you share your experience. I will bring my 6 months old baby to Japan next month.. So worried if my preparation is not enough. Thank you
Re: What will you bring if travel with baby to Japan
Hi,babyboysngirls,
firstly, mineral water IS NOT suitable for you to dilute the milk,
personally, I trust the quality of water in Japan, as you know ,you can drink the water from the tap directly.so all you have to do is make use of the electrical pot to boil the water fisrt (mainly for the baby only) .
for the bottle sterilization, you can use the milton tablet which you can buy in Parkin shop.
Things to be bring along:
1. Diaper- generally the price in Japan is more expensive.
2. cereral- baby food is very convenient and easy to buy in Japan, provided that your baby like it.
3. bath basin - you can simply buy one in 100yen shop.
4. baby bath, shampoo, medicine, feeding utensils, etc.

I also plan to bring my daughter (will be 11M) to Japan in Summer holiday. But the most problem is she don't like milk power, she drinks my milk. I just wonder how about the congee as she is now eating congee. I need to bring rice cooker or not. We plan to go by ourself.
Re: What will you bring if travel with baby to Japan
Thank you mllau!! By the way, is it easy to get a bath basin from 100yen shop?
I am using Avent sterilizing products, is it Ok to buy other brand of the milton tablet? Thank you !
Re: What will you bring if travel with baby to Japan
babyboysngirls,
I can see differenet size of basins in 100yen shop.don't worried.
milton tablets is a kind of sterilizing pills which disslove in water, and then you put all the bottle inside for 30 mins,
actually , you can bring along the sterilizer which is not heavy but only space consuming.
salina0817,
for the breastfeed baby, it is an advantages for travelling, I also breast- fed my boy when I go to Japan twice, I don't have to bring along the milk powder, the bottles and worry how to sterile them,
you only have to bring is a large stole, you can feed your baby on train, and all the shopping mall have a big and clean baby room liked those Japanese company eg. Jusco in HK, and breast feeding is very popular in Japan, don't belive me? I can see a lot of mother visit the breast feeding room in the Tokyo Disneyland.
to prepare the congee, you can use the "Thermo" vaccum flask , or you bring along a small saucepan or use the electrical pot which is usually provided by in hotel.

mllau
My baby will be nine months old when we take her to Japan this summer. I still breast-feeds her and now she eats congee twice a day. Had you give congee to your BB in Japan? or all breast feed?
Re: What will you bring if travel with baby to Japan
Hello smilesun,
actually my boy was already 20 months and 30 months old when I travel to Japan with him in 2003 & 2004 . He can feed by adult diet already, breast milk was only supplementary and psycological needs!
I think if it is really not able to prepare congee in japan, you can give her cereal or baby food. but my friend told me that use the thermo flask to prepare congee is possible.
