Use the videocam to record the situation. Verbal notice is also effective. Besides, it can be an evidence if she runs away and complain to the labour department.
My new bun bun was exactly like this when she came. If she did not have overseas experience, she did not know what you want and what your expectation is. There were somethings that totally beyond my imagination.
You may need to handhold her. As long as she gets the right attitude, she can be trained. I provided her with the timetable and told her to follow as she did not know when to do what. I stood beside her when she started the 1st housework task, making sure she did the right things than left; came again to her for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th... As long as you explained to her and she could follow, you can leave her alone. It has taken a week or so for the daily routines. She has been here for 2 weeks and is able to do the daily routines herself living up to my expectation. It is quite time consuming and I did think of changing a new one but the new one may be the same.
If you find she has the right attitude, give her a chance.
I understand my helper went through the training in Philippines - 3 weeks and 2 days a week. But... it is kind of requirement sent by the government for 1st time deployment for sake of $$$. She could not come if she failed to observe this.
She was not really trained to our standard even though she went through and paid.
Besides, the standard in their village is totally different from us. Just imagine someone coming from poor village in the 3rd world like Ethiopia, Pakistan...
