Hi,
1) It depends your budget but Doncaster & Box Hill are popular suburb for most Cantonese. Most of the chinese food markets & Cantonese Canteen are located at Box Hill and Doncaster has good yumcha restaurant and living houses.

2) I used to visit Dr. Galvin Chow (GP) from Blackburn Clinic at 195 Whitehorse Road. Tel:9875-1123. He is a young Cantonese doctor which is quite good.

Another good doctor is William (Bill) Capell (Paediatrician) at 496 Elgar Road, Box Hill 3128. Tel: 98991200. Not sure how old is your kids but he is a really good and popular doctor for baby 'cos I just born my baby, he takes care of my baby very well.

3) It's really hard to describe the Living Standard here. Eg. Yum-cha for 2 will be around AUD20-30. 2 bed room unit rental will be around AUD200-300/week. 2 bed room house rental will be around AUD300-400. The minimum price for house at Doncaster will be from AUD 500k+ & Box Hill will be from AUD 400k+.

4) I believe the life in New Zealand should be very simliar with Melbourne except there is slightly more Cantonese population in Melbourne.

Balwyn is quite good area to live in. Is the rent still expensive. You're so lucky to have 3 kids to keep u busy. Which school are they going to?

因為我屋位置近camberwell,那區依然係比其他區貴少少.
我仔入camberwell gramma school而女就打算入canterbury girls' secondary college但佢地話未有位,慘 :-( :-(

Balwyn係比較近好多中國人既boxhill區,也比你選既 south yarra...等更近melbourne市中心,但你當然係選返近你老公返工既地方住.你等閒上多d地產網睇多d,就會知邊度打邊度,尤其是依家d地產網用左google既衛星地圖,左拉右拉,放大zoom細都得,好好玩.
south yarra區2房租價平均也要A300-400/week.唔算平. South Yarra有個差不多澳洲最大既Royal Botanic Garden.好岩小朋友^^同大人.

Yes, 同聲同氣 is very important when we live overseas. I know most of the things in OZ are more expensive than HK, but compare to NZ, NZ is far more expensive, so that's why we want to move to OZ!!

When will you move to Melbourne? We will move to there in mid Dec.
