I have birdies(total 8) for about 4 years, and my daughter is one year old now, I kept on during the pregnancy, so should be no problem, just ask your hubby to change the poopoo newspaper for safety lor. (i took them out the living room to play around everyday too)
But i haven't yet letting my bb to touch right now(although she want to), as i am afraid of allergic, wait until she is a few years old first.
If u are worry about it, you can wear a mask when you play with them lor.
I have 5, Dad, Mama and 3 babies (2 years old lor). I get BB out everyday and clean their poopoo newspaper myself. And now I will ask my hubby to change the newspaper and will get them to my Dad's home until I have found a bigger house and have delivered my baby.
Yes they are very lovely and funny, like a little child. Mine are conures, pionus and caique, so a noisy family^^
Do u mean that the 3 babies are born from the'dad, mama' that you have also?
My conures have once lay eggs, but in the winter time, although we open the warmer, they can't be hatched.

Actually Bird Mami delivered another 6 eggs very soon after the first round, but that time, bird papa and mama did not concentrate on "Bo" eggs and failed. And later, they keep giving birth of 1 and 2 eggs, but I am bad, I throw them away since I can't take care anymore new bird...

Are your birdie grandson/daughter born in summer time? my birdies' egg can't be hatch as they laid in winter time despite 24hrs heater.
Actually i don't think i can manage taking good care of their bb, so now i take away their nest, and they haven't lay another round until now. But if it must happen, i will try my best lor, actually last time, they laid their egg just a month before i give birth, so we(my bird and me) both are pregnant and guessing whose offspring will come out first, haha
I heard that they know which egg is fertilized, that's why they will select the one which can be hatched, my conure at that time, laid 5 and kick out 1.
My bird always laid eggs during winter -- around Jan,Feb (near springtime). Everytime the bird mama laid about 4 to 5 eggs, but she can't manage it well and always forgot to feed her offsprings. So my husband and me would take out most of her eggs before they became little birds and let her concentrating feeding only one of them. So finally, she can bring up 2 little birds by now. One boy and 1 girl!!
I also have 2 male cockatiels, and I've been keeping them for 6 years. I am not too supported throughout, since my husband has skin allergy and also a 2 months old who has eczema and, we all live in a small apartment. I know I am so cruel still keeping them, but I really don't wanna abandon them in "the birdie's street". I found myself shifting my love to the baby, and keeping them is only out of responsibility. Once in a while I took them out from the cage, I found them putting on weight, as I don't release them too often right now. It's such a contradictory. Check out my babes:

Actually you can let them out daily to have some interaction, maybe inside a room la, just about 15 mins lor. One pair is more easy to handle.
My birds have to come out by species ga,( because they will fight, very very naughty and troublesome) maybe all of them can fly, therefore not as tame as before, so have to spend more time comparatively. :-P
Later i will introduce my daughter to them too!
They are very good companion to children , and our bb can learn to take care of them also.
It must be very happy to see their offsprings bringing up.
Did you use any incubator or what to help? Last time my conures laid eggs in late Dec. and the temp. was just about 10 degree. i use the heater but they still can't be hatched. But actually my husband and i was not really keen on hatching out, just don't want to stop the nature happen only. As conures are really very noisy birds, two are more than enough, although they are very cute.

We have not use any incubator for the offspring, as their mama would "spread" her wings over the babies and kept them warm. We just covered the bird cage with a thicker cloth at night to keep the birds cold only... :-P
ic, last time their hatching is not successful and finally they break their eggs and ate them(Bird seller said they will eat them to 'bo' their body if can't be hatched finally, i don't know as i didn't saw this, just the egg broken after more than a month)
