I may reply to that guy "you are 神經病? no wonder you need to see the Dr" in mandarin. I may also say "你 also 小心一點 ba, old man"... Anyway, suen la... forgot those people.

hehe.. I have the feeling that many mandarin-speaking ppl don't like cantonese-speaking ppl & vice versa. I guess it also have something to do with the cultural background and sterotype as well. I have a mandarin-speaking friend (from Mainland) said I am her first friend from HK because the HK classmates that she knew didn't like to talk to them - mandarin-speaking ppl. Anyway, I speak English to her anyway... maybe that's why. :D Everyday, I am practicing my mandarin with the daycare lady, I guess she needs to spend extra effort trying to listen to my "mandarin"! :D Hopefully my son can speak mandarin... he can speak some simple Mandarin words like 再見, 吃, 去.

i did reply to that mid-aged guy "你才神經病!" and that's why he's so emotional and mad at me. he knew my mandarin is bad so he tried to insult me in mandarin.
i think a lot of taiwanese and chinese from mainland in the silicon valley 都好寸 as there're lots of mandarin-speaking people in here. they always said "你們廣東人this and that ..."

i also had another bad experience with a mandarin-speaking mom at my son's preschool last year. my son was running and bump into her son by accident. her son's got a single "dot" of blood about to come out at the back tip of his ear. she's really upset and almost wanted to ask the director to kick my son out of the school to make her happy.
however, when her own son spit and hurt other kids on purpose, she ignored abt the complains and pretended nothing happen.

sometimes i don't understand why the chinese can't be as close as those indians. i saw the indians always have good relationship to each other although they have their own dialects too.

anyway, thank you all for your notes. i'm feeling ok now.

It seems like most moms can make it on Sat, 12/15. I forgot if you guys had dim sum for the last gathering and I'm too lazy to look back the old postings. So do you want to have dim sum again or go somewhere else? Any idea?

I'm thinking about 11:30 am or 12 noon time.

we went to Cuesta park in Mtn View this morning and then we had lunch at the HK Bistro at Castro St.

i tried to call u to see if u're in the area but realized i didn't hv yr number with me.

oh I was at home on Thursday (went out to dinner at nite) and went out to shopping on Friday. :) How do you like the food at the HK Bistro? I only went there once when they just opened. At night, we usually go to Fu Lum Moon for dinner/late-dinner. Their lunch and Night-snack (after 9pm) has the same menu. Entree, rice, soup for a bargain price. :)

No we didn't go to ABC last time. We went to Mayflower Restaurant in Great Mall (chi king far) http://www.greatmallmayflower.com/index_files/directions.htm. Last time I heard they take reservation for over 10 or 12 people?

I didn't join the last gathering, but I guess it doesn't matter whether only moms or with dads. At least I don't mind having dads join us as well. My husband has to work on Saturdays usually. If he is free that weekend, I'll bring him too.

I have never been to the May Flower at Great Mall. It's good if they take reservation for big groups. Hope we have enough families to join us to make it a big group. We can also go shopping afterwards. Nice!

I can probably fit one more car seat and one adult in my car if anyone needs a ride and if you don't mind my messy car.
