Hi Bluestar:
Please send me the information to E-mail: [email protected]
And I want to ask you one question,my maid will finish the second contract (4 years),she don't want to back home, but i don't want to pay her長期服務金,(佢依家成日暗示要我比足$3670.) If I tranfer her to my sister.我已無做野,唔需要再用佢,但我家姐需要請人(her passport in my hand) than make a new contract(underpaid) .Do you know now (underpaid salary ??)and the gov fee $400/月(who pay??).The agent fee(also need $1x,xxx)?? She need to back home or not?? Thank you so much!太多問題希望如果有其他ma ma 知道的話,請幫幫我喇!
2. If you "transfer" your Indo DH to your sister, meaning that your sister signs as employer on the DH contract, you CANNOT process it yourself, and your sister MUST go to an agent.
3. The $400 p.m. "DH Tax" is payable by the employer, either in one lumpsum of $9600 at the time of application & approval for DH visa (at HK Imm Dept), or in 4 instalments of $2400@ the 1st one payable at time of approval then at 6m interval afterwards. (which is why the official legal min sal for DH went down by $400 from $3670 pm to $3270pm wef 1 Oct 2003).
4. Sorry I cannot answer you on employment of underpaid DH - it is not legal and I never advise anybody I know to do it. (Instead, I will teach my enemies how to do it. )
Bluestar,
Could U pls email documents to me? Thx! email a/c pls see pm!
Other questions hope U can answer :
1) For self-renewal procedure, do both my maid & I need to go together to Indo. Consulate for interview?
2) For contract renewal under Dec 2003 new system, is new contract only last for 1 yr (instead of 2 yrs under "old" system)? If only valid for 1 yr, does it mean that we need to renew contract each year? (no matter renew by ourselves or thru agent)
3) If go thru agent for contract renewal, my agent will charge me $3,xxx and $???? for my maid! Can we negotiate $$ with them??
1. Yes (Phone up Indo Consulate to make an appointment, then both you and your DH attend the interview which itself only lasts for about 15 min. But you have to wait in queue to submit the renewal documents at the window, so it should take you less than one session either morning or afternoon.)
2. No No No.
The DH contract is for 2 yrs, the initial DH Visa sticker (upon contract renewal) allow DH to stay and work for 1 yr, then DH has to take home leave within the 1st yr of renewal, and upon re-entry to HK the Imm Dept stamps a rubber stamp visa in DH passport with expiry date being end of 2nd yr of contract. i.e. DH has to take home leave for 1st contract within 1st yr of 2nd contract.
3. Yes, you should be able to bargain for a better price now. But the cost is least, both for yourself and your DH, if you take 2 sessions off work and process it yourself. Time = $$.
