What I understand is that class positioning has been abandon effective from 09/10 for all streams but not sure this applies only for pupils starting K1 09/10 or ALL.
In terms of assessments, this is done daily and at the end of each term and not in a formative matter like previously where the kids sits and do a paper for each subject in the way of an exam( I experienced this when my eldest son attended SL previously, he is P2 now). So at the end of the term, there will be awards for the best performers in English and Chinese etc... There was a notice given out at the begining of the year regarding this.

Other SL parents - please correct me if I am wrong.

So far my son enjoys SL and love his teachers!

Zeith - I like their daily PTH lesson!

My son just started Wai Yan Kindergarten for pm to pick up his Chinese. It is on the same street as SL, and he likes it there as well!!!!

I just thinking of transferring my daughter back to Zenith. If I don't hire maid in coming August, Zenith is the only choice for me. My daughter must attend full day class and Zenith is the only school that offer full day international class. Compare to Zenith, the syllabus in ST. L is easier than Zenith. They have to follow the Government's syllabus if they accept 學券. I shall wait for the assessment report and see if her learning at St. L is good or not.

Thanks for your reply! However, I found the syllabus for English & Maths still lower than Zenith. Zenith will teach Grammer in K3 & as for Maths they will cover P1 syllabus. But my son (now in SL K3) still learning addition & no grammer. Yes, Zenith have more textbks then SL. I'm just curious how come Zenith's syllabus higher but their P1 allocation result not as good as SL.

When my eldest son was in K3 (2yrs ago, as he is in P2 now), they taught English Grammer and Maths of P1 syllabus in K3 and I would thought that the international stream is kept at the same standard as before because it is not under the "education voucher" criteria. If this is the case, I need to clarify with the teacher and principal.

I know many current K3 pupils have been accepted by many direct subsidy schools already for 10/11 P1. So it proves that it's syllabus and teaching method is still good

Hi EM06,

As far as I know, SL also has full day programme for K2 & K3 students although the afternoon programme is more like supplementary classes than normal schooling such as Cambridge YLE test preparation classes, PTH classes, etc. You may check with the school before you make any decision.

k2, k3 係有全日,但4:30pm放學,而zeith 就最遲可以7pm先揍走!!

我大囝上年畢業,e+ P1, 佢係學劵第一年既學生,可能係咁...佢地程度會深D(我估咋),因佢地都有教grammer, maths 教既都係P1既野,因為同佢E+學既,好多在K3時已學左.....細囝先K1我就覺得差唔多,K2, K3就真係唔知係咪有左學劵D野淺左...

請問雙語班是否英交及普通話，英藝及萊茵已收了囡囡，我現在考慮比佢讀邊間，因為兩間課程都係深的，但想問萊茵d老師好唔好的及同家長有無溝通，我知大埔英藝d老師幾好不過好少同家長溝通，好多時要家長主動的，因為我要返工及有一個小朋友下年讀小學另一個現在2個月，如讀英藝full day會好d但萊茵聽人講都幾好, 請比意見。唔該

Do they start the grammer or P1 maths in the 2nd term? Cos my boy still writing words like triangle, rectangle , catching, running, etc ... quite simple I think. They will write simple sentences which have grammer in it but I don't think they go deep into it. As for Maths, learning shapes like cylinders, cube, problem sum (just addition)& ordinal numbers for k3 1st term. Is it the same as your kids? I took a look at k3 workbook of Zenith, (my friend's daughter is in Zenith k3 last yr) it's harder than SL both in English & Maths. Will SL touch the P1 syllabus in the 2nd term?

I seldom go to the school. Has SL posted out the P1 allocation result?

Hi,

my son is in the international stream but under the "education voucher" program. Maybe that why his syllabus is not the same. Hopefully it will be higher for next yr K1 since the international stream not under the scheme.

Thank you. Glad to know that Zoie behaves properly in class. Is your daughter Stephy? Zoie told me that her best friend in class is Stephy. She also likes Kiu Kiu, but Kiu Kiu has moved to a Tusen Wan Kindergarten in this semester.

Hi Sim,

I can't remember whether they started writing sentences in the 1st or 2nd term but they did started learning grammer like nouns and prepositions in K2.

I think SL will post the primary school allocations around June time.

For Math - don't worry too much about it. As Math P1 syllabus will covers the topics that you've mentioned. So SL is covering P1 Math syllabus in K3

One other thing, you've mentioned that they are learning words like catching, running etc... These are VERB so they are doing grammer

As for grammer, I wonder they teach tenses. O yes! Sl teaches nouns, verbs & preposition.

Wow, I need 30 mins to read the previous.

Well, we will also join the picnic to wetland too.
I just wondering if my husband will go or not.
Cos I already apply for 2A1C. If he can't go,
I will bring My maid and my 1 year old son to go too. But that's not I want.
