I live in Inner Richmond so both of them are not close to me. But, I will still go and take a look first. $790 per month is not too expensive. I have seen some charge $1400 per month (don't have an idea why they can charge that much, not including those donation and voluntary work yet). Thanks for your information.

Hi every mom.

I haven't been to this topic for a long time. There are lots of new friends now. Nice to meet you.

I am a working mom living in Daly City and I have two kids. The first daughter is almost eight and the younger boy is six now. I have two babies within 3 years. I felt hard at the beginning. But now they grow older. It is much better now. My kids went to Pre-K in sunset district and went to the Daly City public school then.

I live in SF and working in the city too. Which pre-K in Sunset that you sent your kids to? Is it good? I need to enroll my son to Pre-K very soon. He's now 17 months old and I want to start potty training before he turns 2 years old. I'm now expecting my 2nd one who can arrive any time now.

How are you?

I sent my kids to Sunrise Christian Preschool on Judah. It is small, but it is good and warm. My kids like there. Did you hear about Ark II? One in on Vicente and the other is on Anza. I like the one in Vicente more because Ms mei mei works there. She is nice, and she loves the kids so much.

I met you in the topic of the mom born on 196X. Did you see me there?:lol: I have been in US for only 4 years. I am still new here. I also came from HK. Nice to meet you here.

I have not heard of Ark II, I will check it out. Thanks for the information. I'm also new to USA - landed in 2003 and came for good in 2004. How you like the living here? I enjoy the environment and the working style is less stressful as compared to HK. However, the living standard in SF is quite high.

i've heard of Ark II, but i don't know anybody goes there.
most of my friends' kids go to Cornerstone. and my cousin's kids also go there now for elementary school (from preschool), although his wife is a teacher at another preschool (but i don't know which one).

Hi,

I landed in 2003. My kids like here. The working pressure is less, the air and the weather is better. But I still miss Hong Kong. Maybe, my family all are still in Hong Kong.

Hi Issac,

Your baby is very cute. I don't know you can bring your maid or not. I think you need to go through another paper work if you really want to bring the maid to here. To me, I can't afford to pay for the health insurance and other benefit to her. After moving here, I am not only the kids' mom, but also their maid too. I think I become a superwoman.

I was trained to do lots of housework.

All my friends here don't have a maid at home. Now my kids are old enough to help me to do some housework.

Where will you live? I think lots of Chinese people like to live in Sunset area or Richmond like Rosemag.

I am now living in Hong Kong, and planning to have my 18 mos daughter go back to Daly City with her granny and grandpa for preschool at her age of 2.
I myself and my husband will keep staying Hong Kong.
Only willl we go back a few times a year to see her, as well as will she come back to HKG in term break and summer holidays.
If you were me, what would you do?
Do you find this workable?
I dont want to stay in SF as I cant go along well with my mother-in-law.

Maria,
As a mom of 2, I would rather stay with my kids. If you cannot go along with your MIL, how do you know your daughter can? Do you feel comfortable to let her take care of your daughter? Would you agree on your PIL's teaching style? My mom loves my kids and she's very helpful but still I can find some of her ideas that I don't agree with. So, if I were you, I will stay with my daughter. Also, she's only 18 months old, she needs mommy to help her to adapt to the living style in US. Maybe I'm selfish, I want to be with my kids to see every of their milestones in life, says starting solid food, start walking, potty train, etc. BTW, my son is 21 months old and my daughter is almost 4 months old.

Would it be better if you let your daughter stay in HK with you and your husband? If you don't get along with your in-lawes, why you want to let your daughter to stay with them? Is it because you don't have any caregiver to take care of your daughter in HK? Anyway, since your daughter is so small, I don't think education is a big concerns at this point (US's vs HK's school). Maybe when she's much older, you can send her to study in the US if you don't like the education style in HK? Do you think you and your husband will move you the US in the future?

同意rosemag和 bunnymom，你會miss好多小朋友的成長過程。

我們一家已受了很多移民的苦，記起當初我帶著兩個小孩過來美國先，我的細仔只有兩歲，他爸爸好像你們一樣放summer and winter break來，他第一眼望著他有點陌生，我先生當時個心好hurt，每次他要走的時候，小朋友好upset，那種滋味真的很難說。其實小朋友都很怕有separate的感覺，雖然每次都對他們說了很多好話，買了很多禮物，但每次爸爸離開，他們都會哭的，小朋友雖然不會哭很久，但我也明白他們唔捨得的感受，我先生每次一個人回港，那種寂寞、掛念，他以後也不想再嘗，這是我的經驗。其實和我hubby說起，他都很想看到小朋友的成長，真的很可愛，你會發現很多的第一次，第一天上學，第一次跟你扮老師.....若可以返轉頭，我們一家會一起來。

大家好,我岩岩先發現到原來BK有咁多人住SF架,好開心呀,我住SUNSET的,有兩個仔仔,一個向RICHMOND返小學,另一個就向SUNSET返緊SR.PERSCHOOL.有冇人住近我架?

How are you? Nice to you meet you here. I live in Daly City, very closed to Sunset. I always go to Sunset because the kids go to Chinese school and the Sunday school in Sunset. How old are your kids? Mine are eight and six.
