If you're going to get a size 226, get the purple one. Gold is toooooo bright. Chanel shops in HK don't sell purple color neh.....

Purple can match grey color or black color clothes. So it's still a good one to buy. :D

If you ask me, I will buy the purple one.

Hello guys,

I saw the Spring 2008 "East-West" bag in the shop, smallest size with double chain, I like the white colour a lot and am thinking of getting it! But it's seasonal and so not sure whether I should go for it.
Wat do you Chanel experts think? Is it a highly sought after bag? Will it go out of season soon? Need some advice coz the SA is not going to hold for me long!

I think the "East West" bag is seasonal, and seems it is not in shortage as i saw many displays at LG Chanel... just my opinion... if u like the style, just buy it as u will use it this year... for me, i still like reissue 227 the most, that's why i won't spend $ on other style la... I am a bit bias if u ask me as my favorite now is reissue 227 only ...

I had bought a green 226 during CNY which i like the color a lot.. however, i think 226 size is too small for me, so i finally sold it and found a green 227 instead. But if u don't carry too many things, u will still find 226 okay to use...

For 228 jumbo, the double chain is quite heavy for me, that's why i only look for 227.... just my opinion.

If u can find purple 226 in Paris, better BUY IT asap as there is no purple in HK!

I like the classic reissue too but all they have left is black in Prince's Building and 227 or 228 is a bit big for my taste.... when i asked for the 225 the gentleman said it is all sold out! do u know where i can find any?
Yeah tried on the east-west in white colour, is white colour in abundance?

Aiya! Dun know what to do now. I called my friend just now after reading your comments. And I went up to website to check out the purple color. Wow so bright! I don't think I can handle that purple.
But is such a bargain, only Euro 16XX.....before 13% tax refund.

I am now obsessed with the Dark Silver 227.......I am going nuts.......I envy you Fatping in possession of both dark Silver and Green........I so wish I had started looking for it in early Feb.........

Guess what! My friend actually offered to do a one day trip to BK for me to buy the dark silver 2.55, provied that it is for sure available. And I only have to pay for the flight. Just zoom in and zoom out!!!!! Can you imagine that I am actually considering this option? I cannot believe it! I am going nuts!!!!!!

I went to Milan Station today in CWB....guess what. They have the Black Metallic Jumbo 2.55 Reissue with matte "vintage" silver lock and chain!!!! It's 2nd hand but very new to me. Finally, my husband bought it for HK$26,000.

So happy neh...finally silver matte lock and chain!! Good that I didn't ask my brother to buy the black metallic with gold lock in airport Chanel!!

OK. For your dark silver metallic.....I saw it in Milan station CWB..but in Jumbo 228 size (Brand New). I also saw it in France station in CWB...in Jumbo size also (Brand New). Remember I asked about 名人站 VIP station in CWB 白沙道..whether the bags they sell are real or not? Well, I saw that this shop has a lot of metallic reissues in different sizes...I definitely saw your Dark Silver Metallic in size 227 (Brand New). You can go there and see see....but I really don't know if this shop sells real stuff or not. You better check it out. I even saw my new bag (the "漆皮" black puzzle 壓紋 which my husband bought in Paris) in this shop selling it at HK$29,500 but in Paris it's just 2,100 Euro).

So, you can either buy from these shops in HK, or ask your friend to buy it in Bangkok Chanel for you.....you try to calculate which cost is cheaper la. Hope you can buy your Dark Silver soon!! May your dreams come true!! (You know, it's so hard to describe the happiness inside you when you succeeded to buy a bag you really like and own it....好爽!!!)

Purple is not available in HK Chanel. They didn't order this
color.

226 is not the smallest size. The smallest one is 225. I think 225 is too small and it's perfect for an evening bag, but not a daily bag.

Wow! I am so happy for you. I know EXACTLY how you are feeling right now. After all the fuss, you got what you really want. Good for you. It's all worth it, isn't it? I agre that silver hardware is not lot cooler than the 2008 SS gold ones .

OK, I will go to CWB and check out Milan and Paris station. The stuff they got there are real, right? Coz I have no clue how to check if they are legitimate or not........ thank you very much for checking my bag out for me too.......I will keep you posted.

Yes go for it!! Well, I think Milan station and Paris station are selling real stuff. But the other 名人站, I'm not sure. In order to check the authencity of the Chanel Bag, below are some tips (taken from the Purse Forum). Hope this helps! Update me bor! :D

P.S. My next target is the pre-fall/fall 08 reissues. I heard there is going to be a greyish silver metallic reissue with black hardware. Also, a dark pink reissue too....so excited neh!

1. Authenticity Card
Many of the fake Chanels come with authenticity card that also match the hologram (Chanel's hologram is the little sticker inside the bag which is usually in the lower left corner of Reissues).One way to identify it is to put the card under the light and see thegold line that surrounds the wordings (sorry I have no picture to make myselfclearer). Turn the card side to side and if you catch the light reflections ina multicolor glint - it means that it's fake! The real one only reflects goldlights. This knowledge is from Chanel boutique itself. Also the fake card is thinner (you can bendit a little) whereas the real ones are thicker and sturdier.

2. Authenticity Booklet
The real Chanel bag comes with accompanying authenticity booklet which isusually enclosed in an envelope. The fakes come with those cheap looking foldedcard in black or white in inverted square shape.

3. Hologram
Try to peel off the hologram with your nails. The real ones stick real hard tothe leather whereas the fake ones easily peeled off.
Mostly,the hologram can indicate when the bag was produced.
For example, if the hologram has 8 digits starting with a 10, its from2005-2006.
For the last couple of years, this method has been reliable:
2006-2007 11
2005-2006 10
2004-2005 9 (7 digits)
2003-2004 8
2002-2003 7
2001-2002 6
etc, etc....

These #'s shouldALWAYS match the Authenticity card!
*The number zero on newer hologram stickers should have a slash through it.
*The hologram sticker should be scored in a criss-cross patern.
* Hologram hint..... Beware of sellers who tell you a bag is new or justrecently purchased when the hologram tells you otherwise. For example, if theseller recently said they purchased the bag, but the hologram begins with an 8than there is a good chance the bag may be fake.
* Also beware of holograms that end in 5454/8184/5832/1845/5889 because this number has been massproduced on fakes.

4. Screws
The screws on the back of the lock closure should beflat head and NOT phillips head screws.

5. Zipper

The zipper on the inner flap should be the same colour as the bag, and the zipper brand is either EP or YKK.

6. Wordings inside bag

The "Chanel Made in France" or "Chanel Made in Italy" wordings inside the bag should match the color of the chain. If the chain is gold, the wordings are in gold. If the chain is silver, the wordings are in silver.

7. Dustbag
-note that the new Chanel dust bags are never white. New models come in black dustbag stamped withthe word CHANEL. Material should be made in a kind of rather coarse cotton. Ihave seen a fake one with similar color dustbag but the material is soft andflimsy.

8. Packaging
- a bag that has plastic around the handles,zipper or chains are notauthentic and real..
