Mandy,

If u are not sure about the authenticity of the dark silver 227 from VIP station, i will suggest u to buy the matt black 227 from Chanel boutique as the price is at original price ($24,100?), no need to pay $28,800 for dark silver 227 from VIP station... this is just my suggestion, really depends which one u like more!

I guess VIP station won't sell fake bag guar, i passed the shop quite often and looked at the Chanel bags on display, they look quite real to me wor... hope u can buy your favorite bag soon!

It is $15,100... i went to the boutique to try the hobo style and still liked the flap better! The price is good deal for Chanel flap in calfskin!

After u have used your navy 228, can u let me know if the chain is heavy? As some of the chanel fans said 228 might be heavy for them to carry, that's why i didn't get 228....

The price from France should be cheaper than HK, exclude tax. This is told by one of the Chanel fans here.

How are you and your Chanel shopping? Sorry that I wasn't able to reply to you earlier coz I have been moving to a new apartment last week. I am still unpacking the carton boxes now, so really busy these days. And we didn't have internet access at home yet, so it's a bit hard for me to get online until April 10.

Anyway, read the thread and saw that you are choosing between the Karl Lagerfeld signature vintage black and the metallic silver? Well, if this is your 1st chanel bag, I think the black one is the safest choice. And it's HK limited edition....will be really special to keep. As for metallic silver, you can wait for the fall season, as the reissues for fall are also metallic color..and I'm sure there will be silver/grey color (which I want one too...keke). :D

So, finally, which one did you buy?? So excited for you!! I still haven't used my new Chanel bags...as weather here these days is rainy and humid and cold. No mood to go out neh.....

So happy to hear from u guys again. And thx so much for your sound advice.

I figured also at the end that the Limited edition matt distressed black 227 is a more sensible decision. So I GOT IT finally yesterday. The sales lady told me that it is a very hot item and size 227 is so hard to find nowadays. She mentioned that it was reserved for VIPs in HK and I was so lucky that my Sales managed to transfer it over, bla bla bla bla...... I was like WHATEVER..........typical sales pitches......

But when I walked into the shop, I saw a dark silver 228 Reissue sold to a walk in customr. Lucky that it was a 228 which I dun want, or else I would kill myself and the sales girl. Anyway, I am very happy but havn't used it yet. I dun think I will buy anymore bags until after my baby is born. My shopping spree for bags has gone a bit over the top lately........

I came back today to hk and went to Prince bldg Chanel, and can't find a single 227 Reissue. But saw so many 228 Matt black. I also saw many new styles from the SS 2008 collection. But no one appeals to me more than the one I bought.

Nice to see you again her Orgoo. Hope you have settled down nicely into your new apartment. I know it could be a nitemare with the packing and unpacking. Enjoy your new home.

The calfskin is quite soft, it is similar to lambskin to me... u go and take a look la! They got black & white as well!
