I used to teach kids around aged 8-12 and adults. For our kids, their coordination are not good enough to manage real swimming. But, we still have a lot to do in the water to let them have fun, gain cofidence and water sense. Let them feel the bouyance and balance in the water are good enough at this stage. I ask Yiu Yiu to sit at the edge of the pool; then kick...let her have fun. Then, hold her hands and walk inside the water (water at kids' knee level) Let her feel the resistance of water and gain cofidence...do some fun things like splish splash, jumping, turn around, blowing a ping-pung ball....etc. then you can go to a deeper water (water at her armpit level) to play. If she can, just let her free by herself.....not hurry to teach them anything....just have fun! :mrgreen:
