are you talking about the Shark Stream jet??
we did use it when we first moved into this house, to clean the floor, and all corners inside the house.. plus all the outlets of the heat (as our house runs the hot water pipe for the heat).. it can really clean everything.. but then, you need to spend a lot of time to add water into that little jar, as they need very high pressure to run it and water has to be very hot..
it is small and portable.. But to wash the carpet and curtain.. I don't suggest lor.. but good for all floors, and hardware in kitchen..

各位好, 想問問, 我們一家本身不是 US citizen, 想問問若果想過黎, 比仔仔 join D 課程學下野, 想請問有咩途徑搵學校 or centers ? 我仔仔大約六七YRS, 而呢段時間, 我地一家可以在 US 呢邊買保險嗎 ? 找屋租又有咩途徑呢 ? 若果想在呢度 STAY 一至兩年, 而我地又 PLAN 住生多個 BB, 又有咩要注意呢 ?

We are looking for a long stay hotel in Hong Kong, we are planning to go back to HK for family visit around mid of March. Do you guys have any good ??

Btw, What do we need perpare for my son?? He will be around 8 or 9 months old.

If you are not US citizen, are you US resident (green card holder)? What type of 課程 are you looking for your 6-yr-old/7-yr-old son? There are different type of 課程 and duration of the 課程 is different. If you travel to the US within 6 months, I know people can purchase travel insurance (e.g. like Blue Cross... my mom bought it when she booked her plane ticket in HK). What kind of visa are you going to use in order to stay in the US for 1-2 year? If it's vistor visa, I think each time, the custom will only give you 6 months stay and you can renew it again. But I am not sure about a 2-year stay with a vistor visa. So, I think it really depends on what kind of visa/travel document are you using to enter the US. There are those 月子中心 for people to have babies in the US for their shorter-stay... But I don't want to going into details here since I am not sure what kind of visa are you using.

If you hold vistor visa, I will not recommand you stay here for 1-2 years at all
1. Because you hold travel visit, your children can't go to school here. (since 9-11, school can't admin any people who has travel visia) And you cannot work either.
2. You can get the traveler insurance, I don't think those inculdes baby delivery.
3. Usually, you can only stay in the US for 6 months, after that you have to leave, if you over stay, you can't come to the US for next 10 years
4. You just has a friend here.. and your friend and her in-law not in good relationship, I don't think she can help you that much.. Again.. that will be hard if you stay here and brother them (sometime even blood relative are not good either)

If you just want to have baby here, you can join 月子中心, but those are in CA. Usually Tawaines runs those 月子中心. They have some packages, usually it runs about HK$100,000 and stay here about 2 months.
Think about what do you want before make up your mind.

Hi all,

Just too busy now..
2 days ago, my father-in-law mention to me that my daughter has lazy eyes..(cross eyes), I don't think that is serious.. but I just sch Pred to see her this Sat.... and see if he will refer the eye doctor for me......
I didn't notices it before, after he mentioned it.... it really brothers me.... Hope she is OK...

If you only use vistor visa to enter the US, I don't think you can stay for 2 year. Usually they only give you 6 month entry and at most you can renew it one time to make it 1 year.

Most of the 月子中心 that I heard of is in California (Los Angeles / San Francisco Bay Area). They have thsoe package deal and you paid the money and they will let you stay there before your baby born till you deliver, and then stay there after you finish the first month (They help you to "sit moon"). They will help you to contact the Dr/hospital and help you on applying the birth cert, passport etc for the baby.

Also, if you are vistor visa, I don't think you can get health insurnce for the delivery of the baby unless you have other existing insurance that can cover that. I don't know if there's any 月子中心 in Boston though. Do you have any budget of having the baby in the US?

I got 2 doctors, who take care of Amanda.. but both of them are in Manhattan chinatown, will that be too far away for you?
Ivy Shan in 13-17 Elizabeth street, suite 704
Dr. Margram in 2 Mott street, 2nd floor

I like Dr.Margram better because she will listen to you and more patence.
Dr. Shan is very subjective, if you don't mind that, she doesn't listen to the care giver. But she is a chinese.
I only took Amanda to Dr. Shan once, because I don't like her attitude (me--> subjective too.. haha).

go and get those service apartment will be a good idea for you, as they got ppl to come and clean the apartment twice a week, they got laundry service, or you can do your laudry by yourself, normally, they have laundry on each floor. depend on the size of the apartment you choose, they normally got a kitchen inside as well.
we used Shama when we were in hk, they had so many location..

when we were in hk that few months to arrange our wedding in hk at 2002, we rent those service apartment.. which we love it very much.

some hotel do have the service apartment or also they provide monthly rental which is cheaper than daily rental.

At March, still very cold in hk.. you need your goose down jacket (to pay safe).. bring enough formula (if your baby is formula baby) as those in hk.. you may not dare to use them to feed your baby, as we had bad experience with that.. Amanda's similac advance ready to use ran out (we bought 16 bottles back, but still ran out..).. then I ask the dealer in hk for help, but they said that they don't have ready to use and ask me to buy the powder form in hk.. once I mix it with water, the milk is white and so sweet, which Amanda refused to drink it. what I did.. I have to wait until Amanda cried madly, and give her those powder formula, and ask fat bear to ship the formula back to hk(overnight)..
Do you buy a ticket for your baby? If not, remember to bring your baby carrier. have your stroller with you, and just check it out at the gate, they will allow mom to have the stroller all the way in the airport. they will give you a tag for your stroller, that will help you a lot, as you can put all the diaper bag, jackets over it, it is easier for you to take care of your baby and yourself.
Bring more diaper, and formula, if your infant use pacifier, bring 1 more, use the disposible bottle and lining, will have you to safe the space in your diaper bag and time to manage your hand carries, ask airline to prepare the baby food for you if you have a ticket for your baby. ask them which brand of baby food they provided.
as 8 months old, they don't provide bassinet for you because infant is over 6 months.
did you order buck head seat? if not, when you arrived in hk, go to the airline counter(immediately), order it before you leave the airport (my trick).. buck head provide more space for you.
If you bought a seat for your infant, remember to bring the only AAA approved infant carseat, otherwise, air crew got the right to prohibit you to use the carseat.. then you need to hand held your infant for those 10+hours.
My personal opinion, the infant clothes in hk.. look very fashionable, however, when you wash it here back in ny.. they broke down quite fast and easy, material is not that good.. since 2 times experiences were not that good.. I did not buy much..
Depend on how long you gonna stay in hk, if just a quick trip for 2-3 weeks, bring your stuffs.. if over months.. then buy in hk... so you can save your space to pack your infant's formula.

係叻叻18m checkup時.我都有問個pedi if 叻叻有cross eyes..我自己覺得有少少呀.但醫生check左後,話佢係ok.只係中國人nose比較flat, 所以會咁覺得..但佢都有個referral醫生比我,話係專幫bb or 小朋友check eyes既醫生..後來我老公話再大d先,

Amanda因為單眼皮+冇鼻樑... 我哋都suspect 佢有lazy eye or cross eye, 但個個兒童眼部專科醫生都話.. Amanda 呃到人囉.. she is fine.. ^o^

i don't think hanging the mobile toys over the crib will cause cross-eyes. i also did the same for my kid when he's a newborn probably until he's 7 months old when he stood up to reach the musical mobile and fell from the playpen the first time. i took away the musical mobile just becoz i didn't want him to try to reach it and fall again.

真正的「鬥雞眼」是不會隨年齡增長而減退的。有些兒童由於鼻樑過於扁闊而看來像「鬥雞眼」、其實他只是「假鬥雞」，這種面部外觀確會隨年齡增長而改善。為避免雙重影像，患有真正「鬥雞眼」的兒童只會使用其中一隻眼看東西，除非我們能遮蓋著他們好的那隻眼而強迫他們使用另一隻眼，否則他們不常用的那隻眼將得不到正常發展，形成弱視。「鬥雞眼」的治療方法包括眼鏡、眼藥水或手術，一般情況下，趁早診治「鬥雞眼」越好。如懷疑兒童患有「鬥雞眼」，應帶兒童往眼科醫生檢查。

嬰幼兒的鬥雞眼多為良性的假性內斜視，其原因為：

嬰幼兒兩眼間之鼻根處較寬，眼球內側的眼白部份被鼻側的皮膚遮住了，所以看起來黑眼珠好像都位在眼球的鼻側，感覺好像有鬥雞眼。到了4、5歲以後隨著顏面發育成熟就會改善。家長可以留意小朋友的照片，如果閃光燈在眼睛所造成的反光，都是落在兩眼黑眼珠的正中央，那八成是假性內斜視，不需特別的治療；但家長沒有把握時，還是請眼科醫師檢查，經由醫師檢查後確定為假性內斜視，不需要治療。但若為真正的斜視，則須即早矯正，以免導致弱視。

嬰幼兒的視覺目標都較近，看近的物體時目光會較集中，兩側黑眼珠會向內側偏靠攏。

我自己本身都有做過下research當發現叻叻有少少 cross eyes,都話d toys係唔會整到既, 但我果個係女, 當見到佢咁樣,又驚佢大個時唔靚女, 因好多人都睇到我女有少少cross eyes, even醫生睇到都話冇事, 但以防萬一, 而我女都大啦. 所以我都冇再吊掛toys比佢玩..真係希望佢大d會冇左呢個問題啦..醫生睇左話佢唔係有問題.所以大左真係咁,都冇得攪架.
