I just came back from Dusit Laguna. I think it is a great choice of hotel. It's beautiful, it's compact and it's most convenient to the beach. I just only lay back on the beach chair, order a drink, enjoy the sunset and watch my kids play with sands for hours. Hope you also enjoy Dusit.
Here is my schedule:

We have make our reservation thru WinCXXXXe. They not only have free city tour and free airport transfer, they have a tour guide make all the bookings of excursion for us. They even have car rental services. 1200 Bhat for 5 hours, much cheaper than hotels in Laguna area. She did not ask for any tips at all, but we gave her 1000 Bhat for tips in the airport when we leave to thank her excellant services.
Candycancan,
I meant I wrote to Evason regarding my concern, but they didn't return my email. Anyway.......We still haven't decided if we're going or not. We ended up didn't pay the agent the deposite. Btw, thanks for your advice regarding the travel agency.
CYCC & Kammyman,
Thanks for your advice. It's just that we haven't paid, therefore, we're still thinking. If you were me, would you go? But I really love being in Phuket, pay less but have really good service + good scenery!!!
If u really really worry and still not book the package, u may choose another place for your sense of security. To make decision based on your mind, just do what u think.
Furthermore, u may visit Phuket on next next trip. Right?:-P
helloruby,
Do u mean u buy a package from wincaxxle?? I've also bought one for coming october, but they didn't told me that about a guide??? Do u have infomation about the guide?? I've also booked Dusit Laguna, is it suitable for a 13 months baby???? Also, is the minimart in canal shopping area like a supermarket?? I mean I want to buy some fresh meat to prepare confee for my son. Thanks a lot, I've asked too many question!!! ?-( ?-(
Hiring a taxi from Phuket airport to Holiday Inn (Patong area) costed us 550 bht on 24/8. I think it was quite fair. Because we hired a taxi from hotel to airport through hotel's front desk costed us 800 bht last day. The cost was a little higher.
Thanks for your advice again. We have decided to go Phuket lar, but later cos my period will come during the public holiday. We'll go on Oct 4, but haven't confirmed with the agent yet.
QQ_mom,
I don't think the shop in Canal village has fresh meat, but they have fresh fruit. It's kind of like 7-11. But lots of Heize baby food you can choose from, my boy ate lots of them last year. However, can anyone double confirm for QQ_mom?
May I ask where did you find the trip going the outlying island so late? I remember your trip was sometime after breakfast, right? Last year, we can only find the one picking us up at 8am, my hubby complainted so much. Btw, is it going 蛋島?
They will explain to you all the information the day you pick up your hotel voucher and you get a free booklet about Phuket. Don't worry, the tour guide, probably is 小封 (her name) again, will pick you up at the airport, she will give you her mobile number, and a price list of all the excursion on your way to hotel. She won't push you into anything. You can give her a call anytime you need her services or tell her what you want during your free city tour.
Yes! I think Dusit is suitable for a 13months baby. You can play with your baby in the kids club for free, and at the beach without too much mess. Since the beach is so close to the hotel, you can always go back to your room in a minute. The shallow side of the pool is also suitable for baby.
The mini-mart is like a convenient store. I don't think they have fresh meat, but they have diapers and other things. Our city tour was arranged the next morning we arrived at 10:30am. The tour guide bring us to Big-C, where is a big supermarket. You can buy fresh meat, fresh food and many other baby things there. But, how do you cook your congee? They don't have kitchen in guest room.
Yes, we booked the half day snorkelling tour to Khai island(I don't know is it 蛋島, maybe ar.) after breakfast at 10:00am. The agent is 'nice tour' which located on Patong beach. It picked us up at 11:30am and returned at 5:00pm.
And we also booked our canoeing tour here. Its service was very ok la.
Thanks for your info. Yes, it's Egg Island. Do you happen to keep the phone no. of the tour agent?Since I'll be staying in Laguna area, we probably will call them instead of walking in.
Btw, do they still provide you the lunch? Is the lunch ok, is it from the poisonous restaurant? ?-( ?-(
Candycancan,
Can you remember where the famous seafood restaurant located in Laguna area? Is it inside Sheraton?
Lastly, do you know where to exchange Thai currency has better rate? Phuket Airport or any other bank?
Anyone have visited Phuket Zoo. Is it good and if there is lot of animal?
I may bring my 17 mths to there during our trip to Phuket on mid of Sept. My son like animal very much.
I've been in Phuket zoo last year. Not a big zoo, but they've 3 shows to occupy your time. We stayed there for about 2 hours. The shows were performed by elephants, monkeys & crocodiles. My boy was about 22 months old when we went there, he danced with the music during the show time.
Because we joined half day, so no lunch, only supplied some fruit (bananas & 紅毛丹) , water and soft drink. The poisonous restaurant had already closed, it didn't do business.
But lunch was provided in canoeing full day tour, the food was quite OK gar!
Sorry, I haven't kept the contact of 'nice tour', I just know how to go there. But u may find details of it on www.thailandfans.com 的布吉留言討論區.
