真係好, 啱啱發現有呢個題目, 我會於下週一至三去星加坡自由行, 曾聽好書分享的媽咪講係星加坡的大眾書局買英文書好抵, 是嗎? 大眾書局容易找到嗎? 請問買那些書抵? oxford reading tree? oxford read at home? or 其他?

There is another book store I will visit every single time I landed my feet in Singapore ie Kinokuniya - the Japanese book store. It is really big and full of a variety of books . The children books are good.

Maybe also because my husband got the membership card so they have special discount. Normally is 10% off but sometimes is 20% off.

The one I normally go is the one in the Takashimaya shopping mall. I can spend more than half a day there just browsing.

阿坤早餐 is not really my cup of tea.

The locals will have their coffee ( which is not my kind of likings) and the raw egg with Kaya toast. But the thing is I don't eat Kaya and raw egg is definitely not the right time to eat (H5N1) so I will not have any. Instead I will have sugar + butter on toast (as their toast is really good). My little one will have ice-cream on toast since she does not take kaya as well.

離港勿用對講機

【本報訊】對講機益發受歡迎，不少行山人士都帶備以防遇劫時賴以求助，亦有人帶到外國使用，但消費者委員會提醒市民，本港合法對講機只可在本地或內地使用，在其他地區使用或會牴觸當地法例，講話時亦不應把對講機放得太接近頭部，減少輻射的影響。

消費者委員會比較二十八款對講機，價錢介乎一百三十八至五百八十元，全部符合法例要求，毋須領牌，即是使用 409.74 至 410 兆赫（ MHz ）的二十個特定頻道操作，而有效發射功率不超過 0.5 瓦特。

不應太接近頭部

消委會宣傳及社區關係小組主席吳馬太說，在港使用違法對講機或會被檢控，最高罰款五萬元及監禁兩年；消費者若外遊時使用對講機，也須了解所到地區的電訊規定，是否已開放頻道予公眾使用，及所用的對講機是否符合開放頻道。

他續說，現只有內地與本港開放相同頻道供民用對講機，其他如台灣、新加坡、馬來西亞、南非、北美、瑞典、挪威等，並不適用。

吳馬太表示，要避免收到其他人的通話，消費者可找出對講機的靜音功能，一般對講機有三十八個靜音碼。調查在不同地點測試相同型號對講機，發現距離愈短音質愈佳，兩者間沒障礙物，音質亦較佳。

此外，他說講話時不應把對講機放得太接近頭部，減少輻射的影響，部份說明書建議應最少保持五至七點厘米的距離。

Any good suggestion in SG hotel?
We need convenience in travel and also want some children facilities for our 1.5 year old boy.

As we know there is a shuttle from Orchard Rd to Night Safari, should we stay at Orchard Rd? e.g. Grand Hyatt or Marriott? Thanks.

I found the DVD and CDs are more expensive than HK. But they got more new releases as compare to HK.

Depends on whether you like to go shopping @ Orchard Road.

We stayed in a hotel at Orchard Road and went to both Night Safari and Zoo by taxi.

It costed us S$17 to N.S (return trip @S$12.1) but only S$12.9/12.6 to/from Zoo (same path/location). I guess the extra cost was caused by the slow traffic at Orchard Road in the evening.

It costed us S$13.6 from hotel to Esplanade but return trip costed only S$5.5 (again, could be due to the slow traffic at Orchard Road).

I'd suggested my friends with kid/bb (if they asked) to stay in hotels in the Marina and City Centre Area (closer to Esplanade, Duck tour, Lau Pa Sat , Clark Quay, Merlion Park etc)

Another piece of advise, if you plan to go to the Zoo, and don't mind your kid getting wet, get a spare set of your kid's cloth as there's a place for kids to get wet and have fun.
