You can still visit the library on your rest days, don't you? If you have a kid and you can borrow books for him in the capacity of his guarator, you are already allowed to borrow 12 books without infringing the regulation. I think 12 books is good enough for a week.
Besides, are you also working in the suburb? If you are working outside the suburb, wouldn't it be more convenient for you to borrow books from library near your place of work?
I do understand why you find it inconvenient for the library to ban the use of other people's borrower card. For myself, I will use my friend's VIP privilege without her presence too. I am not accusing people for taking this type of advantages. But I think if we "get caught", we should know what we are doing is not right! Instead of complaining the library for enforcing the long-established regulation.
