Nille,

All the best for Gabriel's test as well.
Why does he need to be tested?
Sophia is going to have a hearing test at the end of the month.
She wasnt speaking too much until 18m and she didnt seem to hear low pitch sounds very well.
I hope she is OK!!!
Add oil!!!

thanks for praying to him..
as he has speech delay. therefore he has to go thru all the hearing test, speech evaluation.. poor boy

We are quite happy about it.
She is speaking a lot now eventhough not a lot of sentences.
I think it is common to the second child in a multi-lingual environment.
I think she maybe a bit confused about cantonese and English as Damon speaks English with her and I speak Cantonese.
I m trying to ask Damon to speak more cantonese with her.
She is a lot better now and she mainly speaks cantonese with us.
I will try to keep her home until 3 (no n1 for her) and hope that her cantonese will be a bit better.

just finished the enrollment.. the social worker said that, in Gabriel's age group.. toddler should able to have 10 sound/words.. but.. Gabriel is hardly to pronounce 7 sound/words.
they are going to do more exam on him....

Dont worry too much!
Gabriel might just take his time to talk.
In his own timing, he will start talking a lot.

She loves talking to everyone even strangers.

我主觀地覺得現代人太公式化,將所有野都入晒方程式咁...
我又係見我亞妹成日計住個囡幾多個月大識幾多個字/音咁,好大壓力,好死板。
其實個個人唔同,有早有遲,d指標都係take 個average 0者,總有人會比正出快少少,有人比正常慢慢少,但並唔代表一定唔正常/有問題。
放鬆d啦,我地又唔係機械人

Nillie,

Think positive, that might be an inidicator of what the majority can do at that milestone.

This will be easy to quit if you do not believe, but if you think this is for his own good and that might help him before things get worsen, then try to cooperate if you might think fit.

There are a lot of kids out there want assistance but without a way to do so, it's lucky in your country that they put some resources to help the one in need.

This is not medication he required, but time and practice that he requires.

I am with you and my prayers are with you as well.

Dear all,
Thanks for cheering me up..
as a child care worker and RN, I know that Gabriel does have delay, and very hard to accept it.
So, when Peds brought it up, and concern about it. I have no doubt that Gabriel needs evaluation.
When he was born on the first day, he has head injury by the mistake from the OB intern, on his 1 months old, he develped Larynagomalaysia, and has been CPR for 2 times at home by myself to safe his life while he was only 3 months old. by his 11 months.. he has pneumonia deal to poor condition of Larynagomalaysia and end up has aspiration pneumonia. Then, he developed Ezcema. on his 18 months, we found out that he has all food allergy.. medication with him all the time.
that is worst enough.. for a lil one suffers that much.
Blood work, MRI, Sonogram, never leave him alone...
I wish that .. he can be safe and happy, health with no worry..
I am not looking for to have another gifted child.. just a normal healthy boy..
I wish that he can pass his milestone easily.. but.. how come, it is just a big rock, blocking his way everytime.

We all love to cheer you up coz you are such a wonderful person and mother.
Dont feel gulity about it as you have tried your best and I m sure that Gabriel knows it.
I used to feel gulity about Damon's health as he had eczema when he was a baby.
He then developed food allergies, hayfever and now asthma.
I felt bad when he asked me why he couldnt wore less in summer time and why he couldnt run in the field like others.
He is a lot better now and can do most of things like other kids (running around all the time).
The medication that he is on helping him a lot.
I believe when he is a bit older, his asthma will be gone like his eczema.
Please dont give up or discouraged!
Think positive and enjoy every moment of your time.
I was silly spending a lot of time worrying about him and not playing and spending time with him when he was little.
