HI! All moms....Nice to meet U all ar....I also live in US because my hubby has worked here .....therefore, I don't have any friends here :-(

I have a 6mths son ar....Horace...he's not independent ar...also want me to stay with him...so I can online when he goes to sleep....

I have a question ar....I hope U guys can help me....Is there any playgroup, like those in HK, in NYC? I want to take my son to the playgroup once a week so that he can meet different people....meanwhile, I can make friends with other parents ar ma....not so boring at here...

Congrulations to you friend, I went to H.K. also, when I just found out I was pregnant with my oldest daughter! I asked my mother in law, my mother and the doctor, they all said was okay to go! If your friend's husband object to it, then ....

The playgroup in the US are mostly formed by neighborhood moms, who have children around the same age and live close by, they get togather to play and chat. You can also go to the local library, they have stories time for babies and toddler, you can meet other moms with babies your age!

welcome to USA mommies group, you live in NYC too? Let me update your info to our list too.
Me and Pepsii live in NYC also, maybe we can get together sometime, hehehe.
Like mrs.leung said, you can go to the local library and join the story time, take your son to the park, since the weather is so nice and there are lots of moms hang out there. If you want to join the playgroup type, you can check that out from any Day Care Center or Nursery schools, they probably have more info. about it.
Your son is very cute. :-P

Yes ar..I live in Bronx ar....but we lived in Brooklyn b4. When my son was 1 mth old, we moved to Bronx which is closed to my hubby working place ma...He no need to drive almost 2 hr each day from home to his working place ma...We live quite close to Bronx Botantical Garden and Zoo gar....Besides, we drive around 20 mins to Flushing (thru white stone bridge), 15 mins to New Rochelle and 30 mins to white plain jar...hehe...
However, we still go to brooklyn almost every weekend for buying the Chinese food gar...

I did go to the park nearby but most of them formed group already :-( ..Besides, they are Jewish tim ar....so I want to join the playgroup in centre law...I don't mind whether it is in Brooklyn or Mant. or Queens...once a week I think it's OK and not too trouble....

My baby sleeping pattern is hold her fists and toward up. Do you imagine? She always smile when she sleeping. I guess she got a sweet dream. ha... This picture that was my baby after shower. I like the pink rabbit towel that is gift from baby shower.

I watched the website of " Ma Tak Chung" la, ha..... I watched his episode but I don't know his name before you notice me. He is a handsome man.
Yes, I am a stay-home mom. In here, it is difficult to find a baby-sit, all of my HK friends, they have a helper to take care their kids. In here, I am a Chinese helper. ( 24 hours )

Hi! pepsii,

I go to 8 ave. market ar....'cos I lived 9 ave. b4...My hubby said Riverdale is a good place to live ar and it's close to his working college tim ar....I don't know what excatly the area name we live...It's close to morris park ave...there's a medicine college nearby...we rent this college hostel to live ( outside the college area gar )....

I think blyn is convenient to buy Chinese food but the flats are smaller than that in Bronx...and I love big apt so I like Bronx....hehe

兔兔: Welcome to our group ar! It is so nice to have new people joining our group! Your son is so adorable! :-P I am so thinking about letting Hayden B join a playgroup. May be you can find a local group at www.PlayGroups.com (may be it does not have s, please check). Here I am thinking about taking Hayden B to Gymboree for a short time before he goes to pre-school. Six months may be a little too young for playgroup tho.

兔兔, cutie_mommy, pepsii: I am so jealous you NYC mothers ar... I really miss the good Chinese food at Flushing *SO MUCH* :-P :-P :-P :-P Seems like there are so many more NYC and CA mothers ar... what a big gang!

I feel like being outnumbered!

mrs.leung: I took my mom to buy some clothes at Katy Mills over the weekend. Geez, it was CROWDED. Then I realized it was tax free weekend! :-P It was okay, just too many people. But saving 8.25% is quite worth it!
Speaking of Texas size, yes, everything seems to be bigger here. And all the TV commercials keep saying Texas this, and Texas that... blah blah... like what people say, Texas, it is a whole other country!

IC: arr. you must be spending a lot $$ on your remodeling la... when will it be done?

whalebb: congratz on your friend la... too bad she missed out on the travel! When I was 5 months preg. I had to go to Boston for a business trip... it was HORRIBLE... my leg feel so sore and tired... after that, my boss never sends me out to travel again! :-P

There are areas that are really nice in Bronx, quiet and like you said bigger living place. I had lived in Staten Island and moved to Brooklyn for 10+ years. I guess I got used to Brooklyn already and like you said, very convienence going to anywhere from here. I have brought my son to Bronx zoo on his past Birthday (4/03). How long you have been in States? Well, is kinda hard to make friends if you are a stay-at-home mom but seriously, after I have my son, time is so limited, I don't even remember when was the last time I hang out with my friends anymore.

pepsii:
So, you are almost 7 mos pregnancy now, eat less and more frequent, cuz this is the time you will experience the heart burn sometimes if you overeat. The baby is getting much bigger now, how amazing you feel her moving in your tummy right?!

Go out more with your hubby now after the baby arrived you will miss all the "2 people world" time gar la. Who will take care your baby then?

Yeah, is hard to find someone to take good care of babies, I think I am very lucky to have my family watch my son so, I can go to work and feel secure that he is in the good hands

There is a special bond between moms and kids for the stay-at-home mom, it required a lot of patience though and which I don't think I am qualified to be one, seriously, I really need a break sometimes and it made me be more patience to my son when I am with him.
Kids are like the angels when they are sleeping, your daughter can sleep through the nite now?

We are human ma and I always said to myself I am just a "normal human being" of course we all have the feelings (good / bad / love / hatred) as long as you won't say or do something bad to harm someone, I think is acceptable.

Bring Hayden to NYC ma, so, you can enjoy the food again.

I went to see the movie" Bad Boys II with my hubby alone and dinner afterward last Friday, (haven't done that for few mos la) good movie and my hubby loved it more than I do. I used to go out for movies a lot before I have the son, now, don't even have much time to watch DVD at home, how about you guys?

I agree with you, with BB, no "two people world" at all... I don't even have time to turn on TV and watch the movies on HBO or showtime! I only managed to watch 1/2 of the movie by Richard Gere called "Unfaithful", gives me chills after I watched it.

whalebb, cutie_mommy: My mom tried to potty train Hayden B, with limited success. He pee pee 2 times and poo poo 1 time in the toilet (with the soft cover) since Wednesday. But my mom says it is very difficult for working mom to potty train BB this early (no follow up). May be I will ask my nanny to do this when my mom goes back to HK. But I don't want my nanny to spend hours holding Hayden B in the toilet tho!

pepsii: I really miss BB kicking in my tummy ar... I wish Hayden B was that well behaved right now.. he is quite a headache now. Will not eat properly on the high chair, have to chase him around.
