In QM, C-section room does not allow husband to join with. And certainly, the process is very different from natural birth la.

各位好，我是新加入的，第一胎，請多多指教。BB現在11個星期大，預產期是2月24日。

今日第3次去做檢查，我睇緊中環宋美倫醫生，就返工的地方，但都幾貴，要600元一次，所以都考慮緊轉醫生，請問有冇好介紹？

醫生話安排我下次覆診(9月頭)抽血，可以驗埋Down's，但不是百分百準確。頭先睇到你們之前講威院一站式檢查，我即刻上網登記預約，希望快D安排到，最好知道埋係仔定女啦！

Hi, babypooh,

Welcome! My private doctor is also Doctor Shun Mei-Lun, but do you know that she would not help to deliver baby since last year? I still visit her because she's quite good and always give me confident about my fears and I've told her in advance (when I was having my first baby)that I prefered to give birth in QM and would visit both her and the public hospital and she's quite welcome about that. The doctor fee will be cheaper if you don't need scanning (~HKD350 will be OK) Actually, there is no need to scan very often.

I suggest you to register in Tsan-yuk Hospital, it will be quite convenient for you to work in Central but as I've said in this topic, the process are quite different. So you should consider more about that. Where do you live? NT or KL or HK?

I did not know that Dr Shun would not help to deliver baby because I did not ask her about this yet. Thank you for your information. I live in NT. I am now considering whether register at public or C+ hospitals. For C+, I prefer Baptist or Yan On in Shatin. For public, I prefer QE. Do you know that QE accept across-district case?

i also live in shatin but registered with QE last month wor. you need to be quick lah as i don't know when they will change their policy. and the nurse will also question why you register with them if your address is in NT. I just told them i haven't decided whether to give birth in private hospital or not.
i will see both private doctor and QE and will give birth in private hospital. i have no experience deliver baby in public hospital but i have noticed that many mothers here had good experience with public hospitals.

Hi, babypooh,

I did ask Dr. Shun during my first visit and she usually would tranfer the pregnancy case to Dr. Shin Sai-yuen if the mother has decided to give birth in C+ hospital at 3rd trimaster. Concerning which C+ hospital will Dr. Shin go, you could ask Dr. Shun directly.

I don't know if QE is good or not but I think many mami in here can really give you some advices! Good luck!

I've done the "Blood-sugar" test today, the taste of the sugary water was really really bad and the hungryness really made me fainted and uncomfortable..... Unfortunately, I must do this again at 28 weeks... Oh, my god....

I also love that my frequent check-up are always afternoon, (even though I cannot choose which day) then I can go to have a good lunch first and then have a bit shopping.... Then, after check-up, I can go home early to play with my baby!

You have 5 days work? That's really good! I jealous.... I have to work 5.5 days a week ga... It's really tiresome..

Back from the One stop Down's testing-PWH lah. The doctor said it is highly likely that I will have one more daughter. Hurray!! Although I want a son originally. But my husband brought my daughter to the clubhouse yesterday and he told me there were two little sisters who refuse to play with my daughter. Okay. Now, my daughter will have her own sister to play with. Will not be ignored by others lah. No need to sit lonely at the corner.

The probability of Down is 1/12xx and the doctor said that means pretty low chance. :-P

The baby is just 5.09cm. So tiny, but so energetic. Always bouncing. Tears run out of my eyes as I feel too happy when I saw my baby's face so clearly the first time. (I also cried when I have first scan on my first baby's face.) Too touching. Too amazing. Just 5cm.

我前日去咗做一站式, 啱啱開始照, 就有個姑娘走入黎話比醫生聽, 由做6個症變咗做7個症, 個醫生"唉"咗一聲之後, 我就更加唉~唉~唉~
初頭照咗10分鐘度(其間拍咗個肚好多次), 個段時間剩係講咗4句野, 1)呢度頭2)呢度手3)呢度腳4)呢度心, 之後就話個bb唔啱位, 叫我出去行一陣.
轉頭返去, 佢又拍咗個肚好多次先度到頸皮, 之後話比我知bb長度, 佢就係不停按個mouse無出過聲, 我問佢應該會係仔定女, 佢係咁2照咗幾下就話bb唔啱位, 叫我遲d自己搵醫照, 之後就話check完喇, 唉~我仲話比我老公知個個mami做完一站式都大約知bb性別, 我老公特登唔開工陪我去, 佢話照得咁求其, 開工搵奶粉錢好過!
唯有講句唔好彩啦, 遇啱醫生心情唔多靚, 唉~~~

Don't be upset. I guess the essence of the test is for Down's screening. From the doctor's angle, he may not be so aware that we, as prospective mothers and fathers, expect to know as much as possible about our baby. It is most important that we know the babies are fine and healthy. Right.

The doctor I met today is Dr. Lau.
The scan also took very short period of time. I guess no more than 15 minutes.
But Dr. Lau respond to all of my questions. Even pretty silly ones. (I point at the hands and ask him why there are horns growing out of the face.)
I guess we need to ask question and he will answer. He will not talk proactively.

Em.. It was indicated on the report that some parts cannot be viewed. Like limbs, spinal, etc.

But I have told them I want to have prenatal visit at PWH in future and they arrange me to have another ultrasound scan on 24 Sep. They said baby will be more visible around that time.

maybe the doctor is too busy la! He also in difficult position.
agree to what sweetma said, this test is focus on Down's. i think if there is more time, the doctor is willing to tell you more other details. The most important is after the test , you know that your BB is pretty safe from Down. :-P
