香港嘅父母真係好緊張小朋友嘅讀書問題
但我覺得只要父母以平常心去面對，問題唔會好大
當然選校方面，我都會希望小朋友去d無咁多功課嘅學校
我又唔會迫小朋友學乜學物
只要佢地鐘意嘅，我就會畀佢地學
我細個時放學日日有興趣班，上都上到嘔
我一定唔會畀我兩個女行我嘅舊路囉
我唔想佢地嘅童年係讀讀讀
我想佢地享受自己嘅童年，做小朋友應做嘅野﹣就係玩玩玩

只要父母唔施壓，我覺得喺邊到讀書都唔係問題
而且我都想我個女可以學好d中文
如果喺uk，星期六都要返埋中文班既，咁佢咪一個星期放得一日
咁咪仲少時間玩

我00年一年暫時居留，跟住01年申請長期居留，之後05年申請入藉.........

long time no see
by the way, i have got a quesstion on when should i start to give solid food to my son? what should i cook to start with?
also my son had started with formula and i think i need to get a thermal flask to store hot water. how big should I get? 0.5L or 0.7L better? its really troublesome to have to get bottle and etc sorted everytime to go out with him no like breastfeeding.

你可以咁清晰自己對小朋友既方向, 好佩服

But 我自問係會受週圍影響嘅人, 同埋見到我姪女d功課

每曰都起碼三樣

其實我係uk都好緊張小朋友d學業, 但因為佢地小功課, 就算學埋other activities真係仲有大把時間玩

呢度d chinese school 亦好少功課, 志在佢地keep 住d文化

我都係抱住'kids are born to play' 既宗旨

点樣知道有無居英權? 我過嚟UK時佢簽咗個unlimited stay 嘅spouse settlement visa 比我, 咁我第二年打去council 去諗住問佢轉做permenant visa, 咁佢又話唔駛? So 一路都冇理佢, 仲一心以為夠5年就apply British citizen...但久唔久聽到d人講要考試..所以唔知我係咪miss咗d steps 呢?我老公+kids都係英籍, 有冇mami同我一樣呢? 我諗都係要的起心肝去問吓

我有四個表弟妹喺加拿大
兩個喺vancouver，　兩個喺toronto
佢地都有返中文學校
toronto嗰兩個因為幾年就會返一次hk，又聽中文歌，聽中文電台，睇中文戲，所以我嗰個表妹（表弟唔知）d中文好好，可以睇得明晒我打嘅中文
但vancouver嗰個連講中文都諗好耐...

我就寧願兩個女喺hk打好中文個底先，講咗幾年中文，起碼知道大約係點，咁如果真係搬返英國時，自己／佢返中文學校，都唔會太難pick　up
有時見我老公講極都講唔正某d音，我就怕怕，跖想個女都要好似老豆咁花咁多功夫先學得到中文

何媽媽 ,
I think the process should be somthing like this...
If you have a unlimited stay嘅spouse settlement visa, you are already entitled to stay in the UK as permanent resident. The thing that you can apply after staying here for 5 years is 'to become a British Citizen' (i.e. getting a UK passport) ~ than you need to sit the Living in the UK test. Pay some money to book an appointment at the Immigration Service to check your application form to make sure it goes thro' swiftly.
One thing to be careful with the test: once you sit and pass your Living in the UK test, make sure you keep the result slip safe. A friend of mine passed the test but lost the result slip ~ the test center said they don't have record and refused to issue another one, and she has to do the test again,

Hello pigpig78, how old is your boy now?
With regard to start giving solid food to baby, the general guideline is to start from 6-months but if your baby shows signs of hunger more frequently, start waking up during the night again for feeds, or just looking very interested when you are eating!
To start with, the easiest thing would be babyrice from cartons, mix with his formula to give him a few spoonfuls to try and increase the amount & find out how he wants his solids (thick or runny, hotter or just luke warm, etc). You can also give him apple or banana puree (I'm very lazy, I buy those in jars!). As you find him able to take these starter food, you can move onto sweet potatoe, potatoe, pumpkin, carrot mashes
I carry a 500ml flask and a small bottle of cold water when I go out with my boy AND we always have an extra 1.2litre flask in the car ~ one of the items on my hubby's emergency survival kit! However, if you need to prepare two feeds outside, I would suggest having a 700ml or even a 1-litre flask as once there is less water in the flask, it doesn't keep as warm for too long and the hot water always come handy for different uses! It is a lot to carry and I always feel like I am a coolie when going out with my son...

Wow, so good that your hubby can speak some Chinese! My hubby is no hope ~ he can only say good morning, thank you, full up
