Hi bay area mom,

Do you remember me? I just gave birth on Dec 22. The labor and deliver process are very smooth. I can say very painful is only 2 hrs. Super super painful is about 20 mins. I pushed my baby boy three times and he came to this world. When the nurse put him on my chest, this is the happiest moment in my life. Of course, the past seven days are very hard for my husband and me. Yes, this is our first baby. Mainly is the breastfeeding problem. I saw my baby keep crying and I cried too:cry: . I posted my questions on the breastfeeding forum乳牛媽妈(母乳媽咪) 齊來分&#25285. Please help me.

congrats!! which hospital did you give birth at? make sure you drink more soup/fluid, i heard that'll increase breastmilk production.... take care ar....

Congrats, sze_mama. Don't give up on breastfeeding, I understand it's a tough job for you. Just remember correct latching is very important and that you feed or pump at least every 3 hrs to maintain a good quatity of breast milk. Drink as much as you can, I have forced myself to drink at least 3L of fluid when I breastfed my daughter. Keep it up!

Early happy birthday to Matthew

HappyMatt,

Just want to say an early happy birthday to Matthew in case that I don't have time to logon to BK this weekend. Time really passed so fast. Amanda is also going to turn 1 next month. She's learning to walk now. I guess that she maybe able to walk before she's 1. Spencer is going to preschool if he can be potty trained by Sep.

Looking forwards to seeing you and Matthew soon.

Time flies. I still remember very clear what happened 362 days ago.

Matthew still can't walk by himself yet, but he love to walk so much. Also, he though himself is a big boy when we hold his hands and let him walk in the mall ... he would look at people and gave a big smile ... seems trying to tell people that "I can walk la"!

Will you host a birthday party for Amanda? I'm now going to do that for Matt this year la since we think he doesn't understand yet, but I'll take half day off next Monday ... just want to spend more time with him.

Kid must be potty trained before go to preschool?

I'm also not sure if we should throw a birthday party to Amanda, possibly a small dinner with family and close friends. Amanda knows to talk a little bit. It's really sweet to hear her say mama, lielie, papa, paulpaul...

Yes, many of the preschool requires kids to be fully potty trained, it means no help for pull down and up the pants, no help on wipping the butt....so I'm worry that Spencer is not able to be trained at that time. Some preschools accept kids of 2 years old without being potty trained but the ones I enrolled Spencer in do not have vacancy for him yet. The one accepted him needs him to be potty trained. I'm going to enroll Amanda to preschool soon as the competition in SF is crazy. Some even apply before the baby borns.

請問住在Mountain View或Sunnyvale的媽咪...這兩個地方的治安OK嗎? 我女兒將到Foothill College讀書, agent說homestay就在其中一個地方, 請問住在哪區比較方便搭公車返學?

I'm traveling to Sunnyvale with my family this summer, I
find Sunnyvale is pretty good because many wealthy one
have been living there.

I have been living in Mountain View for 4 years and I've also lived in Sunnyvale for 4 years before that. Both places' 治安 are fine. If it's in Mountain View, it depends which district you gonna live. There's an area with a lot of rental apt (more hispanic immigrants live there) - not necessarily bad... just different style.

I don't like the public transportation system in this area. It really depends where do you live and see if it happens to be close to the bus/train station. If the public transportation route is good from your home to the school, then public transportation is ok. If the bus/train station is not close to the place you live or if you need to transfer a few times, then it can get quite inconvenient.

I once took buses from Sunnyvale to Palo Alto's Standford mall, gee.. it took me more than 2 hours + with the wait and transfer of buses... If I drive, it won't take more than 25 minutes.

i'd taken a class at foothill college couple years ago. i didn't pay attention to see if there's bus stop nearby.
i know there're bus stops at de anza college in cupertino and west valley college in saratoga. so, i think there might be bus stop at foothill college too. but meanwhile, foothill college is in los altos hill which is an expensive area to live (much more expensive than mountain view and sunnyvale).
mountain view and sunnyvale are both nice area to live, except that there're gangs at the fremont high school in sunnyvale. u might not wanna live closed to that high school.

by the way, the public transportation in here is not as popular as that in HK. i think u might need a car if u don't live in San Francisco, unless u live in the dormitory which is usually available at a 4-year college.

i suggest u to call the school to find out more about the public transportable access at the campus.

i lived in sunnyvale since 2005, close to freeway 101 and 237. we live in a townhome complex and there're several times when we forgot to close the garage door for the whole day or whole night and we didn't lose anything...

As I know, there should alot of Chinese in San Leandro. In general, I think San Leandro is not bad, but just like other cities in US ... some area is better but some area you may not want to buy a house there.

Are you thinking to move there?

how's the area around oakland airport? is it a high/low class residential area or more like a commercial area? is it expensive? just asking for my relative la. thanks.

I think the area around Oakland airport is kinda mid class la. However, Alameda (which is about 10 minutes from Oakland airport) is a better area to live ... especially the area called Bay Farm ... of course the price is higher than San Leandro.

In this period, alot of houses in Bay Area dropped back to a reasonable price, so I think your relative may able to find a fine house with inexpensive $$.
