I plan to renew my Indo. maid in next month by myself. You've send us some informations before.
BTW, thank you for your help again.
I know from yr. info. that I need to sign a new contract w/ my maid which can be obtained from Immigration Dept.
Can I obtain the contract & then sign it at the same day I process the renewal procedures? It is because I don't want to waste my time to Immigration to take it first.
Yes of course. But your appointment for interview with Indo Consulate will need to be 10 am or later, assuming that you pick up the blank Indo DH contract at Imm Dept at 9 am sharp that morning. Also you will need 2 witnesses for the agreement (4 signatures on each copy : your signature, your Indo DH's signature, and 2 other persons to witness your signatures) - so you need to ask 2 persons to go along with you to Imm Dept.
There are 4 copies of it to fill in (1 set = 4 copies), and you can copy the info from your current (old) DH contract.
(If you are not sure what I meant, pls take a look at the current DH contract.)
Dear Bluestar,
I'm also interested in the procedures of renewing Indo DH contract by myself. Could you please send me the relevant doc. file?
Email: [email protected]
Many thanks.
By the way, I still have another problem. My DH contract will expire by March 05. But as my whole family will leave HK this summer, and I would like my Indo maid to take the annual leave and go back to Indonesia within the same period. So what should I do next year when the contract is expired according to the new regulation? Do I have to let her have another leave? Or should I just bring her to somewhere like Macau or Mainland in order to fulfill the requirement of the Immigration Department?
Any doctor will do.
I asked my family doctor to write the required "fit for work" letter.
If you decide to go to your family doctor, you can call up the nurse of the clinic and ask whether you need to take your maid for lab test before or after your maid goes to the doctor, before the doctor will issue the letter.
Dear Bluestar,
Thank you very much for the information. You've been very helpful.
Concerning the question I asked you the other day about DH taking home leave in advance, I'd sent an email to the Immigration Department and the following is part of their reply:
"Given that you have already advanced your helper's “home leave”, you may wish to arrange your FDH to make any departure trip outside Hong Kong before the expiry of the said 1-year extension and enter Hong Kong with a view to using up and completing the formalities of the visa, thus in turn enabling the FDH to obtain the remaining period of limit of stay and to complete the 2-year duration of the contract."
To my understanding, they are suggesting us to bring the maid just outside HK and then return when the contract is due. Am I right?
