i thought about that, but then, my son is only 20 months old! which school are you planning to send? i've heard that ffca is a pretty good school, and abc charter school? what's your plan? how old are your kids?

Hi Wynne, My boy is 4 and I put him to a playschool when he was 2 1/2. I also put him on the waiting list of FFCA when he was 8 months old. It's never too early to register the charter school for them. 但我的朋友告訴我去年FFCA的排名跌了很多. There is also a new charter school (opened in Sept 2002) named Traditional Learning Centre at Northmount Dr. NW

If your BB will be 2 1/2 this September, I recommand a chinese playschool which my boy is still at this school.

Although they speak cantonese, but those teacher are really good. My boy learned A-Z when he was 3 and he also knew how to write 花 草 火 車 牛 羊 大 天 . It is even better than the preschool. I know they have a long waiting list last year. 如妳有意思的話可至電查詢, 請勿誤會我有股份,我与這學校全冇關係, 但自己覺得好就應介詔比人啦!! Right? Hope those schools information will help.
wlam: i use to think it's only in hk that you only have to worry about kids schooling as early as they were born. but i guess that applies to here too! i still haven't put my son's name on the waiting list in ffca... may be i should do that soon. which area are you living in? i live in edgemont. it's that actually some public/catholic elem school got pretty good ratings too. like the st vincent de paul in varsity and dalhousie elem. i'm christian so i also thoguht about sending him to christian school. there's one called glemore christian academy.... pretty good but really far away from us. there's also the montessori kind... too many choices!!
i'm not too sure what my plan is for playschool/preschool as i work full time.... don't know how i'm sending him to school. i'll think about that one that u mentioned.

不如你同女女去disneyland/world啦， 我睇報紙好平咋。 kids under12 is free hotel and air, you only have to pay for the park admission. i'm thinking that when my son is older, we are gonna go with several families... so the dads will play with the kids in the park and the moms will go shopping!!! hahahaha
my elder daughter always says she wants to to to disneyland again, but the problem is i cannot bring the both of them by myself. however, if my husband is coming back in may, i am thinking of going for a trip, may be disney cruise

i always watch news and weather b4 i left home. i saw -2! so i thought that's great, pretty warm... then the news caster said there's a blizzard coming in 8 and we're gonna in deep freeze for a while... so we bundle up and try to beat the weather. we all got to the office b4 8 and weather was alright... at about 8:30 the weather changed all of a sudden with wind and snow blowing everywhere!!!! now, we are at -20.....

the snow storm last night was not as horrible as i think of, around 10 cm snow only in my area. i am so hoping to have big snow and have a chance to stay home today. hehe.
