sorry to hear about the drive.. just be patient, never mind the others - saftey came first - especially you have children in the car.

one time - I talked to my "lo" saying may be we should move to alberta as the salary is much higher than in Toronto, now with the weather news... we turn down that thought - toronto is cold enough for us, and do not wish to move somewhere else that is even colder..

Even though the temperature is low, the feeling isn't that bad.

Calgary,

Is the snow storm very bad? My sister just gave birth to a baby; she isn't sure if they should go home now or should stay in the hospital.

doggie - thank you, but its really a threat, last year, with my son in the car after school to indoor soocer, I was hit at the rear by a pathfinder when I yield from a major road to a minor one & that time it was also -35+. Luckily, my girl is in my mom's house & both of us were not hurt, but I cried out immediately as police approach me. So I feel really stress when someone behind me follow too close esp when the 2 kids are in the car.

PoohPoohMaMa - Is your sister in Calgary? Can she choose to stay in the hospital even 24hrs after she gave birth. It's not bad staying in the hospital may be for 2 more days, and Wed will be -11, a much welcoming temp although still cold.

Have to take my girl to school now (start 830 now 808) & shovel the snow.

Yes, my sister gave birth in Calgary. She gave birth on Sunday. Not sure if they will let them stay. If it's busy, I doubt that they will.

Hi PoohPoohMaMa - yes, I think they won't let her stay, as when I gave birth to my girl in 2000 on Friday 6pm, I was kicked out at 2pm on Saturday, as they said you and baby are fine, they asked me, would you prefer to stay your weekend w/ your family? So I went home & that I really want to because my son was only 3 & he missed me a lot.

I just finished half of the shovelling, temp is -25 w/ windchill feels like -39, very dangerous windchill. Need get some warmth & go out again.

hi Calgary,
We rush to do all shopping before the snow and I stay home whole day on SUN.
We have snow storm in Vancouver and now the snow is over 1foot for non-stop snowing on SUN. This morning I drop my daughter to daycare by bus!!! The skytrain is so jam up and lucky I dont really need to depend on my car. Since I dont have snow tire and I guess in the next coming dates I will use public transport until the road condition improve. In Vancouver, it is not common to have snow tire as our snow wont last too long anyway.
Our temperature is -4C this morning and forecast -10C tomorrow but not really cold.

I understand that everyone has their stories but if you dont want to share, I wont insist.

18C is chilly....it is a joke for all Canadian! I guess you may see the news about the snow storm at the western Canada. Tonight we have -10C in Vancouver and with wind chill, it may be -18C!!

Lucky my boss allows me to work at home in the next few days and I will be nice and warm at home!

It is so hard to travel on the skytrain as most people give up driving and take public transport.

sorry for you have this feeling, i have explained more then enough in previous posts, what i can say is i made a very hard decision, one thing is that seems not much people can do as i left all things behind, come to hk with nothing.

it is 10.45pm here. I am working at a travel agent which mainly deal with online inquiry and today I spent too much time on traffic, so I just try to reply some email that I suppose to finish today.

If you think that is enough to explain, that is fine. How about let me guess. Are you divorce and that why you have to leave everything behind? Or escape from from crimes...just kidding!

my 2 daughters are in canada, toronto and montreal.

I know you are an old man and single, but the story behind you is interesting to us. Are you really divorce and that why you lost everything to your wife? What makes you give up Canadian citizenship?.....hmmm... are you a commit some criminal cases here?
It must be hard to start in HK and I admire you can overcome it. How long you have been in HK?
