Longman's 100 Stories to broaden Your Horizons....they offered promotion rate to member previously...something like $150./set!! >>>> just a birthday gift of eggegg in 2003. This parent just dropped by and put down the gift, then left without taking a snack or a drink. I myself would not buy cos too standardized and boring which follows closely to the syllabus. Moreover, I do not have much confidence in HK's products.

what's yr comment re these books ah?? >>>> eggegg just listened Disc 1 this morning, and the text is similar to OTB la. Lasted around 15-20 minutes for 10 units. All are dialogues like, "How are you?" "what is your name." eggegg was about to fall asleep. Eggegg then tried one unit of Disc 10 on "Florence Nightingale (the 'white angel' of nursing) and showed great interest.

Higher level fits eggegg most, especially after level 5: common dialogues + some famous story like "King's New Clothes," "houyi (pinyin) shoots down 9 suns" which eggegg called the historical stories and she is interested in.

Story-book approach arouses her interest more lei. Luckily, she has a lot of story books: 30+ Mr. Men and Little Miss, around 20 Crown Book's sale, 20+ Scholastic, 10+ Thomas, a few on Bob the Builder with cassettes, 5+ Ladybird, 10 Powerpuff girls, several 10s of miscellenous, etc. Most have been read to her at least once, and I will make her to read to me in return .

Eggegg still keeps Level 2 cos it contains sentences like "I am swimming," "my father is a doctor," etc, not yet learned from OTB.

Magic English>>>eggegg got them around 4+, simply because she wanted to follow the 3 cousins, aged 1-3 at that time. I did not want to buy cos too easy and boring to her and finally it was the SIL who gave her as a gift. In fact, eggegg is not keen on those cartoonists, especially after 3. Just waste someone's money :-(
