I gave my son the Danone Baby Yogurts from his weaning at 4 months. They are made from follow-on milk so contain added vitamins and iron which regular cows milk found in fromage frais does not have.
They come in packs of 6 or 12. I usually buy the pack of six and it is about £1.49. You get 2 apple, 2 apple and banana and 2 apple and stawberry. The yogurt is plain and has a layer of the fruit puree on the top. Each pot is colour coded to show which fruit it contains (useful when fumbling around in the fridge!).
The fact that the yogurt and puree are seperate is good because it means that baby gets a bit of variety as in one spoon yogurt, one fruit, one mixed. Although this does take a skilled feeder (baby's dad just mixes it all up!).
My son (now 6 months) loves them and will quite happily make room for one after his lunch. For a bigger meal I sometimes mix one with a little more home-made apple puree or a mashed banana.
However, they do contain sugar which I don't really think is necessary. Both formula milk and fruit are naturally sweet so why do the yogurts need sugar?
As a healthier and cheaper option I sometimes mix fromage frais with unsweetened fruit puree and my son eats this instead. This does not contain the extra vitamins and minerals but he gets these from his formula milk anyway.
Danone also do toddler yogurts for babies of 7 months and over.
