老師既解釋如 apply 以下:
1. One (of them) is a girl = of them 係 adj. 可有可無, 'One' 咪對 'is' lor = meaning and grammar both correct
2. Mary (, the beloved daughter of Tom and Jane,) is lovely. = (....) 係 adj. 可有可無, 'Mary ' 咪對 'is' lor = meaning and grammar both correct

我會覺得 this 解釋 is 應用錯誤 lor.

If teacher 走眼改錯, ok lor cos 一右手難敵 200份 papers, but 佢要特登解釋, 我先奇 ?-( ?-( OR I am really out ?-(

FYI, I've consulted my boys' private English tutor on this last night and he agreed with me! But I'm not suggesting the tutor is the authority on English grammar! :mrgreen:

FYI, I've consulted my boys' private English tutor on this last night and he agreed with me! But I'm not suggesting the tutor is the authority on English grammar! :mrgreen:

我都係咁諗喎，"an old man" 係最 common example，從來都係 "an old man" 好似冇見過有人用 " a old man" 喎！ ?-( ?-( 如果好似佢嘅 explanation ，咁 "an interesting person" 咪要用 "a interesting person"？ "a good idea" 咪要用 "an good idea"????? ?-( ?-( 好 "ur" 頭啫！ ?-( ?-(

Yes. 一返學就變臉. 一見 teachers, 順如羔羊, 提心吊胆; 一見 classmates, 魂不附體. prepare 左セ, 唔記得 la. 我預 eggegg remember 7,8 成. 半斤無8両, lose 少當 win ga la.

eggegg 有次 dictation 串錯自己个 name, 扣左 5分

really have to start brain-washing la cos exam 3 weeks later.
