hmm......might be i can help a bit on this topic...as i had many clients with such problem during their pregnancy when I was still working in hospital authority
Finger numbess:
poor sleeping posture will elicit such numbness condition (this is common to hv numbness after u sleep on ur arm for hours)
but as all know.....this is also common to hv a bit swelling over limbs during pregnancy
and this increased pressure will act on the superficial nerves where they are easily being compressed
like wrist, which may induce carpel tunnel syndrome (usually numbess over palmar aspect of thumb to half ring finger) <-- dont worry not all pregnant woman will overcome such problem...not majority i would say
if condition isn't very severe, you might keep observe and make sure a better sleeping posture and well supported pillow and mattress
gentle massage to help body fuild return can help but must be gentle...or else the pressure u apply might even induce more pressure on the nerve
If condition isn't improve and seems to get worse, u better consult GP or Ortho. specialist....they might issue u a referral to see Occupational Therapist for temporary splintage. (sort of external support and will not do any harm to baby)
Vit B12 is good for nerve but most pregnancy supplement also included some........check with your OG doctor if you need more or not.... ^^
for more information, search carpel tunnel sydrome and pregnancy.......you will get a lot of information online
if numbness is clearly on little finger and ring finger...probably it is cupital tunnel sydrome
if the entire limb was affected......then we will usually consider to check the neck .....therefore consult your doctor
