Came back from Palm Island and went to Disneyland
yesterday, it was so crowded. I was angry with those
mainland kids

, they're always insert the line.

The kids loved the water fun parade.

KL,
Palm Island is in Wai Yeung. It's a good resort for guys
who like to play golf. There have a lot of workshops for
kids to play, like painting/pottery/beading etc. But the
food were not cheap !

No more time to Cheung Lun la, this Summer holidays are really full la and all outings/friends gathering were planned
before end of June.

I ordered the Poketmonster stickers at Kowloon City Plaza when I passed by there before. So I think I will not go
to KCP in recently.

I found the shop in Wanchai sells the stickers, dunno it sells Poketmonster or not ? I passed the shop yesterday morning again, it was still closed ?! Will tell you details if it is open.

Today is TT's birthday, I put the present wrapped by newspaper which bought by BS from US to his side of the bed.
Dunno he will discover it or not once he wake up this morning? "THANKS BLUESTAR AGAIN FOR MY BIG HELP and save $$"

Have booked R66 at Hopewell tonight, but it found food poison one day before!

Hence, we will cancel the booking.

Any good suggestion to dinner ?
I am still considering should I cancel some activities today or not ?

Then we could go to Ocean Park, today is Lok Lok's birthday too, who is one of the Panda in OP. TT loves the Panda very much, he hasn't visited the two new comer yet !

Last Saturday I saw a small counter outside a pharma shop selling this kind of stickers but the saleslady said it will take 1 hour so I did not order :cry:

What is your understanding of when an employer needs to pay long service OR severence pay (both = 2/3 salary * yrs of services) to a maid?

Don't know why some says that there is no need to pay if the continuous contract is less than 5 yrs. Actually, one need to pay the LS or SP if the employment is over one contract unless it is the maid resigning.

I have made up my mind to change my maid as we need a change. Now over 5 yrs.

Hi, GC,

LP or SP is required if the employment has been continued for 5 or more years. So, if your maid has been renewed for the 2nd time (that means, her 3rd contract) and if she leaves at the end of the 3rd contract, then you have to pay LP or SP at that point.

If you want to change, change asap. You know, the longer she has been with you, the harder you will be to make such a decision. Because, you may have been get used to her bad habits and get adapted to them.

severance payment = redudancy payment, normally the maid will be entitled after completed 2 years of service with us and we are not going to find a replacement. (However, we seldom/never will let maid know about it).

as for the long service payment, the maid with not less than 5 years under a continuous contract is eligible for it under the following :
- she is dismissed but : not summarily dismissed due to her serious misconduct; dismissal is not by reason of redundancy.
-employment contract of a fixed terms expires without being renewed
- resigns on ground of ill health
- dies

Thank you so much. GN4, I share your comment too. I have been too 'soft hearted' when I renewed the contract last year.

For severence/redundancy pay, I understand from the lawyer that actually whether one employs another maid to replace the old one, the payment must be made. I think I will do this asap to min expenses to move her.
