The apple cereal flavor of “Yo Baby” is available at Whole Food in Cupertino (not available at the one in Campbell). I’m not sure if there’s a Whole Food closed to u. u might wanna check out their web site. I guess the apple cereal flavor might be a new one and there’s only a single flavor in one 6-pack (not like the others – usually 2 flavors in one 6-pack). I haven’t seen it in safeway, Albertson, and PW market nearby so far. So, I only bought the apple cereal flavor when I went to whole food in Cupertino. They claim that there’s more iron in the apple cereal flavor; however, I doubted if the bbs can absorb it all cos the calcium in the yogurt will affect the absorption of the iron.

Btw, we went to Rainbow Bridge school for open house on Sat. they hv 2 campuses in Milpitas – one for preschool only and another from early preschool to 8th grade.
The teachers were not there at the main campus, so I can’t really tell if it’s good or not. However, I doubted if their playgrounds are safe for 2-yr-old. I hv a better impression for the playground at FCS although I didn’t get a chance to check out their classrooms yet. The thing that I like abt rainbow bridge is that they hv a dairy for yr kid every day to show what they’ve eaten and how much (none, some, or a lot) and how many wet diapers, etc. not sure if the other early pre-schools will do that.
Also, the tuition of Rainbow Bridge is $200/week ($800-$1000/month) for 5 half-days, which is more expensive compared to FCS ($570+$75/month for potty-trained). But the advantage is much closer to us compared to FCS. My 99 can drive there without getting onto the freeway, so she might be able to help picking up sean if needed (provided that she can make him buckle in the carseat). She might come back to stay w/ us next month.

How old did yr daughter start studying at FCS?

Yr girl is 24 months old now?! If so, my boy is abt the same age (22m now).

Our two pediatricians told us no need to give bb vitamin supplement as long as he still on formula. When u compare the vitamins and minerals shown on the formula can with the ones in the poly-vitamins, they’re pretty much the same. So, usually I just give bb vitamin supplement (maybe ¼ - ½ dose only) during flu season or when he’s sick or not eating very well. I think consistently excessive vitamins for bbs might be not too good.

I tried to cut out all the teas and coffee when I was still breastfeeding. However, once in a while, I drank some light green tea and pearl milk tea.

How’s the exam? I’m sure u can pass it!

Wow … Amanda is eating so well. She can still eat lots of stuffs after eating 3 cups of yogurt per day. I usually try to limit sean to eat no more than 1 cup of yogurt per day; otherwise, he won’t eat other stuffs and whenever it’s meal time, he’ll ask for yogurt at the very beginning. In these days, I’m not even giving him yogurt every day as long as he’s having at least 16 oz formula (he doesn’t like cow milk).
Sigh … he’s such a picky-eater! He’s already tired of whatever u mentioned in yr last message. I’m really running out of ideas what to offer him to eat every day. He’s not eating solid food again these couple weeks. He eats fruits only and sometimes he eats little chicken only (if delicious) and little sweet dinner rolls. Don’t know what kinda of veggies to offer him, cos he almost tired abt any kind of veggies. He used to like cauliflower and broccoli and sweet potato but now not any more.
My 99 is coming again next month or two. She might not be happy again when she sees bb. Last time when she came here, she said she cried that night cos she thought bb looked like the kids in the “temporary residential districts for the poverties” in HK.

Btw, yr “bear bear” hubby is really nice to u, cos he’s willing to listen to u (even for what happened in BK here). Both my hubby and 99 think that I waste time on bk.

glad to hear that yr boy is doing ok. Pls don’t feel guilty abt it. My boy fell so many times (on carpet, tiles, and marble floor). I understand how u feel, cos I also felt guilty when the first time my boy fell from the playpen (w/out lowering the mattress) at 7 ½ m.
a couple weeks back, he also fell from the stairs (abt 6 steps). He was too excited and running down the stairs way too fast, so he tripped and rolling down the stairs. He was scared and cried a bit at the beginning and then he completely forgot abt the accident.
As nillie said, he should be fine if he doesn’t vomit repeatedly within 24 hrs. our pediatrician even told me that they should be fine if it’s not a long fall (12 feet?!! Not sure if he’s talking abt with or without carpet).

My boy started to walk when he’s 11 ½ m. however, every kid is different. Several of his friends (abt same age) started to walk at 15m. in general, boys started to walk and talk later than girls. Of course, there’re exceptions. If I remember correctly, as long as they walk by 15m or 18m, they’re fine. Actually I told my friends it’s even better if they walk late (less accidents, less hectics), cos mostly they’ll walk sooner or later.

Btw, which work industry were u in? it sounds like we both hv a similar situation. yr boss is really nice to u to offer u a new job which allows u to work from home. I think u might still wanna hv a nanny or take the boys to day-care while u work from home. I guess yr boss and coworkers might not be happy if they know u’re taking care of yr kids while working from home. I used to hv a coworker doing the same thing (for almost 2 yrs). I know my boss was not so happy abt it although he didn’t show it on his face. So he put her on the workforce reduction list after merging w/ another company.

Also, be careful when u’re typing on pc while yr kids around. Today, when I was chating w/ my hubby via yahoo messenger, my boy clicked the flirting fish icon which says “hey sexy”. I didn’t know until I came back. Luckily, I was chating w/ my hubby instead of someone else. Sigh …

My daughter started pre-school at FCS when she was 2 yr. & 10 mo. old. She went to a billingual daycare in Union City after she turned 2 yr. old.

I know FCS (Fremont Blvd. campus) does provide a daily report for young pre-schoolers too. You are so lucky that your 99 can help! If traffic is an issue for you and your family, maybe you should forget about FCS.

Talking about pearl milk tea, I go to Fantasia Coffee at Milpitas Square all the time. My favorite is iced milk green tea with no pearl.

My friend is from Taiwan and she said that Fantasia makes the best pearl, even better than the ones in Taiwan.

thx for the details regarding what to prepare before going to HK. did amanda take the hep A shot before 2 yr old? in CA, the first hep A (optional) shot is usually given at 2-yr-old check-up and the booster shot will be given at 2 1/2 yr old.

as we've thought abt visiting HK after bb turned 1-yr-old, i've asked the pediatrician abt the Hep A shot (before turning 2-yr-old). he told me that only the hep A vaccines made from live virus are available for those who's under 2.

were there any additional vaccines that amanda had taken for the HK trips?

there're 4 cups (4oz @) in a pack. the cups are lower and wider so easier for bb to use the spoon to eat by herself/himself. it's not easy for my boy to dig out the bottom part of the Yo Baby when he reached there.

i bought this only when i go to Whole Food. don't remember the price (should be < $3 for 4 cups).

Thank you for your compliment. We were just lucky becuz the photo studio had some toys for us to make her laugh and my husband and I took turns acting like clowns in front of her. We were both all sweaty after the photo sessions...hard work on the parents. The photos were taken at Photo Perfection at Brea Mall (Orange County). :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

do u plan to let yr daughter study in FCS until elementary/high school? or u plan to switch her to another school? do u like Mission San Jose in Fremont? my husband's thinking to let our boy study at FCS for the first yr and probably switch to Challenger which is very close to us (although i don't like it too much). i hv a good impression abt Harker but they start from kindergarten only, and i heard that it's very hard to get in there.
my husband and i were talking abt moving to Austin, TX again last night, cos several of his coworkers moved there. they all said the education in bay area is expensive and not very good.

i'm not sure if we can really rely on my 99 to pick our boy up when he goes to pre-school (esp. if need to get onto freeway). she just started to drive in here last yr (for a couple months to several places only) since she's stayed w/ us for a yr (on and off) and felt bored. although she's driving in HK for 30+ yrs, she still didn't quite get used to the opposite-side directions and the traffic rules in here. i don't blame her, cos i might be even much worse than her if i were at her age.

my boy not only didn't like meat (but chicken if delicious) but also didn't like veggies and rice/congee/sometimes even noodles. so he only likes formula, fruits (limited varieties), yogurt, snacks (but i cut it out), crispy adult's cereal (w/out milk) and sometimes sweet dinner rolls. for meat, he only likes chicken and thin pork chop w/ honey (if delicious) and steamed live fish w/ soy sauce (once a week only).

so, to All Moms,

warning - pls don't feed yr bbs too yummy food too early! otherwise, u might hv a picky-eater as a result!

Your husband is right, the one wearing red shirt at the part is the one with glasses at home, who is Nathan - the little brother. It is really hard to keep his glasses as his brother always pull the glasses off for him.
The really story behind my long hair is that I didn't have a hair cut for a long time. There are not any good (HK style) hairstylest in my area. I ususally went to Vancouver, BC to have hair cut. However, it is not easy to make a visit to Vancouver these days with two babies. The last time I went to Vancouver had my hair cut was at Thanksgiving while my in-laws watching the kids.

之後問醫生寫定紙俾我去pharmacy 買咳药同傷風鼻塞药, 蚊咬药膏. 自己亦帶infant tylenol, motrin, saline (鼻哥仔suction用..香港air pollute好緊要, BB啲鼻鼻係黑色,so 我會滴2drops saline each nose, 之後suck 番乾淨BB個鼻.. suction pump 係 piyopiyo 嘅吸鼻器, 係醫院physiotherapy 用嘅style... )
咁你哋要小心啲, 小心BB食嘢
贊成bb細時唔駛食有味嘢...Amanda 成13個月先真正開始食大人嘢... Amanda 食yogurt 好開心架.. 醫生話佢骨架大, need 3盒yogurt plus 24oz full milk 先至夠... so far, Amanda 好大食...唉!

I didn't drink much milk during this pregnancy, maybe just 3-4 cups per week compared to my son, I drank like 3 cups per day

Well, my appetite is back to normal after the 4th month and the ultrasounds show the size of the baby is fine everytime when I went to the prenatal check up, I didn't gain any weight for the first 3 mos and I even lost 2lbs during my 4th month, cuz I always got the cold during that time,(lack of sleep and no appetite) I was kinda worried too back then but as long as I know the baby size is developing correctly, it is okay. so far I have gained 10lbs now, who knows, maybe I will blow up like a ball for the next few months :mrgreen:
How is the 4D u/s going?

I didn't give my son the whole milk until he was 13 mos, after the 1st year birthday and after the well check you can ask the doc. is your son ready for the whole milk yet. I gradually mixing the whole milk into his formula and he was doing fine. I didn't give him the yobaby yogurt until he has switched it to the whole milk, I don't think is necessary for your son to have the stage 2 formula if your his weight is well. I have gave him the poly-vitamin (1 dropful/day)though after he has switched to the whole milk.

Is not a easy job to watch a 13 mos and you have 2, you are very good already

My son didn't start to walk until he was 14 mos old, as long as they are growing and developing normal, I rather want them to walk a little later, once they know how to walk, you will need to pay extra attention gar la.

佢30歲做過一次大壽架啦..睇相佬要佢擺嘅..因為我出世, 爸爸係鷄, 我係兔仔..個個都話我克我爸爸,所以為咗冇事, 佢30大壽時, 啲人(媽咪嗰邊啲親友)唔准我去飲...我得6個月大咋!....唉!

燉鷄汁..
cock cock 鷄一隻(細雞好啲-->約2-4磅)..因為你哋只有一家3口.
屋企有冇wat? 冇就用深嘅鬼佬煲湯煲...
1.鷄洗淨, 去內臟...塗一layer 粗鹽(好薄)
2.(鐘意可加一片薑, 葱段小許, 同一小嚿义燒肉(生o架-->唔係即食嘅义燒)/柳梅豬肉同放入鷄腹腔內).
3.鷄頸放於一翼之下夾實...
4.２隻腳就"室"入腹腔入面頂住啲"咸"...
5.煲內有架, 一大碟在架之上, 架之下係水(食用水)
--碟之上放一隻大湯碗, 大湯碗內放一隻反轉嘅細碗. 目的令鷄乘起凌空於細碗,又被大湯碗keep住佢position.
6.蓋上cover 大火煮1-2小時(記住放夠水於煲底)
7.完成要襯熱飲..記得"pik"油..有好多油架..(所有鷄汁會喺大湯碗內.
8.鷄鷄之後梗係食咗佢!!!!!

I remembered my mom said my sister start walking on 1 1/2 yrs old. If you still worried, talk to the babies' ped.... Beside that, don't feel guilty about rescue your old son... it's mother instinct ar ma

Taking care of twins are super super hard job... no wonder your hubby don't want you to work... I agree with Natmama, if your economic condition is ok, it's better to stay home with your kids. Not only taking care of them, but give them enough attention and play with them. Babies can learn a lot from that way... eg social skills, speech development & increase the bond between you and the kids. You can start by group playing with your kids, like singing some songs together, watching baby shows with them, read stories book to them too... or walking outside with them, just few blocks around your house. You can talk to them while walking, show them things on the street, get them interested to the world. It can bring you and your kids so much fun and they would enjoy the time being with you together. Don't think taking care of them but be with them and grow up happily with them together

Oh! Your boys are 13 months old now, they love to go searching around the house..... hehe...... pay attention to them lor!!!

), 跟住就走咗去寶榮行買醋&煲…我喺到撰煲, 睇下個煲有冇穿窿….哈哈見到有個阿婆望住我, 佢好似覺得我拿手唔成世…. 佢就用佢嗰d客家音講 “試水…攞去個盆都試水....” 佢又幫我試埋, 話冇問題… 哈哈… 攞去俾錢, 個收銀又問你煲薑醋呀? 返去將個煲浸水一個禮拜… 跟住用d米煲d水…. 又話唔識煲薑醋就望下樽醋嘅招紙啦….我又話我要去買其他嘢, 轉頭嚟攞….佢話得得得, 冇問題… 返到去, 個收銀仲幫我包到靚一靚, 話知我揸車咁話…. 你哋知唔知佢用咗個箱, 搵埋尼龍繩兼攝晒報紙, 攞去搭飛機都唔會撞難嗰隻!! Nillie_Mami, 果然冇介紹錯呀, yeah yeah!!!!!

行行下街, 阿老公發現咗有間鋪寫住 “正宗港式奶茶”... 佢就話買買買, 佢一飲落去, 就話 “正呀!!!” 我又話睇過, “真係好有茶味噃, 好似茶餐廳沖嗰啲...” 話時話, 仲平過香港啲茶餐廳. ?-(

又行行下, 又俾老公發現張poster 寫住 “Beyond 告別演唱會” ….各位呢個又係佢另一至愛…之前我都有同佢提及過… 佢話冇得喺香港睇, 如果喺呢度開show, 一定要買飛!!!

跟住星期日, 99幫我搞個surprise baby shower, 但其實我一早就知… 不過老公話要99開心, 記住要扮驚喜…. 我咪聽佢話囉…嗰日有好多人呀, 收到超多禮物…. 有bb, 又有我份 :mrgreen:... bb啲衫仔多到成坐山咁… 我呢兩日咪不停咁執執執囉…. 等我睇返你哋呢排做咩東東先….
