I have enrolled my elder daughter for the Girl Guide's camp at Lake Simcoe in June. Hope everything is back to normal at that time. BTW, on safe side, I am not letting them attend the Chinese class on Saturday now; and will go less frequent to the Chinese Mall & restaurants. :-( :-( :-(

just receive an email from our HR manager, informing all staffs - if having the symptoms of SARS - must report immediately to her.

i am not feeling well today and a little bit worried kar, after reading the email, feel relief - i have got symptoms of headache, cough; and itchy throat - but luckily no FEVER at all.

it is really hard to decide, as your girl is 11 already and she will have her own thinking. she may blame you if not letting her go, but letting her go will make you worry. do you know the other moms? will they let their girls go? how many attendents will there be? can you talk with the guilder and have her opinion?

我同囡囡上個week由香港返左加拿大啦....好彩改機票早走,如果唔係係香港實驚死我!! 不過加拿大都唔弱,呢幾日去飲茶,少左好多人...!!

Ladies,

Just came back from the trip in HK. It's the worst holiday I ever had. Everyday, I have to hear face mask to avoid getting infect. Also, try to avoid bus, van, mtr. I took Taxi instead (with lower down the window).

My company asked me to stay home for the next two weeks. Luckily I am getting pay during these two weeks.

I was reading the local newspaper this morning, Fairview mall sells the face masks (lower level).

lucky you to have 2 more weeks holidays - just kidding. how is your wife and daughter then? didn't you go to thailand?? i know everybody is so worried in hk, hope the SARS will be under control asap.
have you worn the mask here? i haven't seen anybody wear this, except from tv news - those working in medical buildings. do you know if there is any masks for kids, if situation goes worse, i may consider to get some for my girls.

Due to time difference, both my wife and my princess are well asleep. As for me, most of my work can be done thru login to my company server. I had been quite a few places, Taipei, Guilin (Mountain and Water), Canton, Bankok, Hanan Island, HK ...

The news broke out when I was in Bangkok. However, apart from HK, none of other locals are aware or taken any precautions.

I don't think you will able to find any mask for the kids. I saw several places in HK that sells mask for kids. Apart from fancy cartoons or colors, they are useless. Besides, asking the kids to wear the mask to school will be quite challenge.

That's cheap. In HK, a N95 mask costs around $15HKD (approx $3CDN). Where do you find such a cheap price?

It doesn't have to be 3M, but as long as it's N95. N95 means it can filter up to 95% of particles.

But I think the most important is change/wash your home furance filter regulary. I changed mine last night (I bought several before I left). 3M of course. (You can buy it from Home Depot)

ckkwkl, I think you have a filter too in your unit. It should below your temp. control.

$20 for 20 pieces is cheap. I bought 2 boxes for my sister-in-law in HK early last week, it costs me $40 (b4 tax) for 20 pieces, so plus the postage is quite expensive.
