Hi,
My daughter is going to have a very enjoyable Music Festival from nearly the start to the end. Her schedules are :-
28/2 am - school choir - Chinese
28/2 pm - Sonatina
1/3 am - school choir - English
16/3 pm - treble voice solo
23/3 pm - 110
Luckily, all the events are on HK side : City Hall, Chinese YMCS, and the Sheung Wan Civic Centre.
Hi JP,
It's amazing that they have 9 groups of Sonatinas in NTE, 18 groups in Urban and 10 groups in NTW. If it is the same adjudicator, it will be so boring that he has to listen to about 1,800 contestants. The dates are from 20/2 to 16/3. Will you take your son to an earlier competition to hear the adjudicator's requirement ? I come across a few children playing Class 145 and they all chose the same song as your son. Maybe as you said, that is the Grade V piano piece.

JP,
The Music Festival is for sharing and some events are enjoyable to watch (playing different songs) and welcome spectators. For example :
N149 - Piano concerto under 12 (12/3 - APA);
N151 - Junior Exhibition Award (10/3 - HK City Hall Recital Hall)
N150 - Tom Lee Music Scholarship (25/2 - HK City Hall Recital Hall)
N838 - Piano Gold Medal (23/2 - HK Arts Centre)
But the songs of the last two may be too long for young kids.

Hi Easy 媽咪,
Do you have a reason for a change of date (e.g. crash with school test/activities) ?
In case of change, they let you pick dates/venues (even outside NTW) of the same competition provided that the quota for the event is not yet full.
If that's the case, the applicant for alteration has more choices!
