Heep Yunn - can share more insider info. 1 am class 1 pm class for K1, 2 K2 classes - am, 2 K3 classes -pm. In 2005, 50% of K3 graduates went back to HY primary to study. Competition is keen to enter K1 coz some candidates have their elder sisters studying here. A portion of the kids' mother are old girls. I think this situation applies to St Rose as well. I dunno why a lot of famous primary schools like to accept Heep Yunn girls. This year, 2 out of 60 K3 students get a seat in DGJS. one go to St Paul Co-Ed, 2 go to Good Hope and most of them have already secured at least one seat in famous private school. Weakest subject is Math. English teaching is OK and taught by a native-English speaker (CBC). Yan's accent is better than me. HY likes active and out spoken girls. I remember clearly in Yan Yan's first school day in K1, when the teacher raised a question, all girls were eager to 搶答, all of them very happy and no shyness at all even it was their first day to be in this school. HY prefers big girls. Yan has 3 classmates who were born one year ahead of the others.
St. Cat - expensive fee, HK$3300 per month, HK$3600 for K3. need to bring own refreshment every day. Sound English training, graduates mostly preferred by DGJS and DBSPD. But some argue that its performance is not so sound when compared there are 900 graduates every year. Easy to get a seat even one is put in the wait list. In K1, the school has a system to allocate children to big kids classes and small kids classes for better management and better learning. It seems that all of my friends who have kids studied there comment that to be a very good school. I do think so if money is not a concern and no through-train school accepts your kids or you 想小朋友入名校。
Kentville - students trained to be very disciplined. High standard in Chi, Math and Eng. Need to have dictation as early as in K1 or K2. Usually parents will put this as a choice after SC. Compared with SC, its graduates are not so welcome by famous private primary schools. Easy to get a seat even one is put in the wait list.
York - should be more famous in previous decade. Advantage - have its own private primary school, goood English standard.
Baptist - students to be trained to have creative thinking. A friend of mine who is a kindergarten teacher comments this to be a very good school. Graduates there can have high priority to enter Baptist Primary School and Secondary School (DSS schools) in Shatin. Fee _ HK$3100. This should be a school - really devoted to education and care of every students regardless of their family background, 真的是因材施教及有教無類。
Pool To - seems to be 校風好, should be Christian school. have its primary school. but not sure if it accepts all its kinders graduates. no more info la.
宣道 - only 30% of its kinder graduates can enter its primary school (APS) which is very excellent in its P6 academic results. I have the text books of Alliance. Seems that the standard is very high. Disadvantage - campus is very small, no outdoor space for kids to play.
St. Rose - girl school in Net 34, primary session has been moved to Shatin. Like other Girl school, its English is of high standard. Like Heep Yunn, St Rose primary principal only considers to take its kinder graduates. No seats in Primary session for outsiders. But it is a general knowledge it is easier to get a seat in St Rose than Heep Yunn in both kinder and primary stages.
Ming Sung - starting from 2006, not all its K3 graduates can enter Munsang Primary School which turns to be a full-day school. Co-ed. Personally I would prefer Pui Ching to Munsang. Advantage - through-train school. English secondary school backup. But its kinder syllabus is commented to be quite easy. Good campus and facilities. Very traditional teaching.
Pui Ching - Really dunno what criteria the school is choosing students. But to my observation (only from those parents who have kids studying in PC), PC prefers quiet and disciplined children.
