Using Vanilla Pods:
using a pointed knife, slit the pod lengthwise. Scrape the seeds out from the inside. The flavour is contained in both the pod and the seeds. Immerse everything in milk, for example. Allow it to infuse for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight. After use in an infusion the pod can be used to flavour sugar. Clean the pod, dry it well and insert it in your cansister of powdered sugar.
