GC,

if she resigns by her own, no long service payment (LSP) is required even though more than 5 years, however, if after completion of 3rd contract i.e. 6 years, the LSP is necessary under the clause : employment contract of a fixed term expires without being renewed.

As for the redundancy/severance/lay-off payment, the staff will only entitled to it after completion of 2 years service and the vacancy will not be filled up any more.

好奇，個agent話做左4年多炒都要比LS喎，話個工人可以去labour department投訴。咁都得？
停約後工人最多留多14日，再搞事去延遲離境都唔出奇。工人的保障有d out of proportion. 相比Spore,香港係天堂。

yes I have an undated one signed as a condition for renewing her current contract. Never know, I have to prepare for the worse, i.e her denial of the resignation letter. I went to an agent which charge $1000 covering all. But I will try the one run by 陳袓澤's sister. She runs a training school herself and is a very 'fierce' person. Can be rude to clients not to mention maids.

Even if you've got her resignation letter, your maid can also go to Labour Dept complaining that she's forced to sign the letter..... so it may not work!
