my maid handwrite the list on/abt 5/30. as per yr experience on this morning. i also got the incorrect list ?!?! who get the new list?? pls help!

大件事!!!!! Indo Consulant has updated the document list this week!! The new one is dated 11 Jun 04!! In the new list, there are a lot of new requirements to "increase" the diffficulties (both time & $$) of renewal the contract ourselves!!!!!
I went to Indo Consultany yesterday and got the new list. Actually I wanted to get the form "letter of gurantee" in advance for my interview booked in mid Jul! But the counter staff said the old one (letter of gurantee) format no longer valid and ask me to follow according to the new list! But when I further ask the staff to explain some requirement details (e.g. letter of guarantee) to me, it seems they also not clear about it!!
One thing I'm sure is that interviews made yesterday accepted old document list (Dec 03). But I don't know when the new list will be effective!!
I will try to call Consulant again today to ask about it!! Also by looking at the wordings on the list, I still have a lot of questions on what they actually want, especially the format & content!!
If U have time, go and pick the new list at the Consulant!! I will try to type out the list here to share! But as the new list + letter of gurantee requirement are very long, I need sometime to do it! Give me some time pls!!
Pls find new document list & Letter of Guarantee content (to be made by and before the Notary Public in HK) as follows.
For new list, pay attentiong to points 10 - 13 which are new. Also point 7, medical check-up report a must (not only "fit for work") !
For Letter of Gurantee, it's now requested to be made by & before lawyer... anyone knows how much??

Document required for contract processing without agency for the same employer:
1. Application letter from employer containing the reason to legalize new employment contract without going through the agency.
2. New employment contract signed by employer, domestic helper and two witnesses.
3. Recent photo of domestic helper and employer (one photo each person).
4. Copy of domestic helper ID Card.
5. Copy of domestic helper's valid passport and valid working visa.
6. Copy of employer ID Card.
7. Health statement letter from doctor attached with medical check-up report.
8. Old employment contract (copy and original).
9. Legalization fee of HK$480.-
10. Statement letter from parent/guardian or husband (for married status) containing no objection to the domestic helper to extend employment contract without agency (attached with her parent/guardian or husband's copy of Indonesian ID Card and Family Card which is legalized by Village/District Head).
11. Domestic helper has to send a letter to Indonesian agency informing that she is renewing her contract without agency. (Attached the proof of letter posting).
12 Employer's guarantee statement has to be made at and before the notary public in Hong Kong contain the matter as determined by the Indonesian Consulate General.
13. Domestic helper insurance policy.
Note: After completed all the requirements, please contact 28904421 ext: 264 or 224 for interview appointment with Head of Consular Section (both employer and domestic helper must come).

The Letter of Guarantee from employer to domestic helper to be made by and before the Notary Public in Hong Kong and should contain as follows:
1. Personal details of Employer:
a. Name
b. Hong Kong ID Card Number.
c. Home Address.
d. Hong phone number, Office phone number, Mobile phone number.
2. Personal details of Domestic Helper:
a. Name
b. Hong Kong ID Card Number.
c. Passport number.
d. Complete address at Indonesia (home address).
e. Home address phone number
f. Name contact person e.g. father/mother/husband/relative (state the relationship).
g. New Contract Number.
h. Old Contract Number.
3. In event of the termination of the employment contract, the employer guarantees the helper's airfare back to Indonesia in any circumstances, furthermore if the employer should leave Hong Kong permanently for any reason, the employer also guarantees the helper's return airfare to Indonesia.
4. One month notice of in lieu of one month salary must be given to other party in event of the termination of the employment contract.
5. In accordance with the employment contract, the employer further guarantees that a monthly salary of not less than HK$3,270.- (Hong Kong Dollars Three Thousand Two Hundred and Seventy) will be paid to the helper.
6. The employer will responsible for the levy HK$ 400/month.
7. The employer should guarantee to provide the helper with free accommodation, food and sufficient winter clothing during her employment in Hong Kong as provided for in point 5 and 6 of the employment contract.
8. The employer also guarantee to provide full free medical treatment including hospitalization if necessary, during the helper's period of employment.
9. In the event of the death of the Helper, the employer should pay the cost of transporting the Helper's remains (human remains) and personal property from Hong Kong to his/her family at the place of origin including the person who has to bring the body to her family in Indonesia.
10. The employer will pay all fees such insurance, long service payment (if applicable) for above said Indonesia domestic helper's contract renewal process at the Indonesian Consulate General and at Hong Kong Immigration.
11. The employer will give domestic helper rest day every week and statutory holidays.
12. The employer will fully responsible to the domestic helper during her employment under this contract.
I called the Consulate General two days ago and I have an interveiw on 2 July and my contract expires 2 August.
I am not quite understand what no. 10 is. Does this mean my maid has to ask her parent/guardian or husband in Indonesia to do a statement letter and send it to HK with his ID card copy?
I called Consulate this morning to ask when the above new requirement will be effective. I told him that I have already booked interview time and wondered if I could stick with the "old" list. The gentleman asked me when will be the visa expiry date of my maid (not interview date) and told me I can come with the "old" list (my maid visa expiry in mid Jul). I further asked then when will be the new list be effective. He said that it will be effective for those visa expiry date in Aug.
Base on what I was told, I recommend U all with maid visa expiry date due in Aug or interview to be done in Aug better call Consulate to further confirm the above if correct or not.

Thank U for yr advice this morning! For my case, I will try to process base on "old" list! Hope I'm lucky enough to get all things done on time!

It seems that even the staffs there are not quite sure about the new list actual requirements. For no 10, I have the same understanding as yours. One maid asked Consulate staff there yesterday if they can accept copy / fax of statement letter (to save courier time) and the answer was NO, only original of statement letter will be accepted.

According to what I was told on phone yesterday, the new list will apply on visa expiry date rather than interview date in Aug. So in yr example, most likely have to follow "new" list! However, as there is no clear public announcement on when the new list will be effective, the best solution is to call Consulate to confirm it!

Any body knows if "Indonesian agency" means the HK agency or their local agency in Indonesia? How to attached proof of letter posting? i.e. through double registered mail?

Reply as follows:
1. reasons such as save $, no conflict between both parties... I just refer to Bluestar's sample letter. If require, I could send u a copy.
2. u may get the letter of guarantee from the counter of 4/F, Indo Consulate
3. For my case, I provide the doctor letter only. However, according to BK mom's latest news, Indo Consulate requires the doctor ltr together with medical lab report. So, u'd better to check the UPDATED checklist from Indo Consulate for renewal.
Would u please email the format of the documents required by Indo Consulate General? My maid contract will be expired in mid Sept, do i need to follow the new list requirement?
