you gals' kids are so smart in speaking skills, my girl is comparatively slowest, I think. Since we're speaking to her in Eng since she was born, she's now acquired good listening skills in English (I think), at least she can understand our conversation and instructions. For some cantonese conversations between my Husband and me, she's able to understand also. She can greet the key persons at home or some key relatives. She'll point at the things that she recognise and speak out the word by her own ( in Eng), e.g apple, banana, ball, bread, dog, doll, door, duck, horse, cow, .... but still in single words stage, far away from sentence stage. But sometimes, she'll speak a long sentence in BB language that we don't understand.
Is it too slow?
I think it's normal for a billingual kid as what I heard from other mums.
let's be patient together and wait till our kids go to prenursery and see. By the way, I've confirmed the seat in a billingual prenursery (PTG and Eng), and see whether it'll be better. SInce for the daytime, mostly my girl is taken care by my maid , she's limited conversation with my girl. I also known some friends whose childhood imersed in multi-lingual environment and they said they also started to speak quite late. They became normal after they grown up. :-P
