Today is my first consultation for IVF at PWH. Dr. looked thru all my past reports and referral letters, she said looks like I once has some serious infection which I'm not aware of which cased blockage to my tubes (normal she said, ghee she's calm)
Then I did some routine tests I believe everyone does that as a record. :cry: She stuck a stick "in", to see from inside (not sure what that is, coz never done it b4) saying my nests and cervix looks fine (what a relief) .... b4 moving on to any step, she said I need to be back to the hospital 2nd or 3rd day of my next period for some blood tests. (should be next week) Then will receive call from hospital to arrange a talk in IVF proceedures, b4 I actually queue up for the 'trip'
I'm a bit worried coz everything suddenly comes so quick, not sure if I'm ready or not to start. 我一直己來都諗要成年後的事麻.....
Can someone share some infos with me, I'd like to know the duration for the whole thing, ie... if lucky enuf to success in one go, when will that day be?
Also, not pretty sure why but she said coz I've 扒了很多頭 therefore my first IVF needs to be private, then govt. cannot queue govt. first.
Good to hear you've already started the 1st consultation at PWH. If you're already decided to do IVF, I suggest you to go ahead to try. I think the doctor would give you the best timeline on when you'll start the IVF treatment. So don't hesitate or worry too much. Time is more precious for us.
I call PWH before, the public line of doing IVF is quite long at least 1-1.5 year to have 1st visit consultation, and then start the treatment, injection, & finally may consume 2 - 2.5 year for the whole treatment. So I guess she said you queue up faster because you can have 1st consultation within few months.....(in fact it's only happen on private). If they said your first IVF is at private, then you need to pay more, you know the price already? You may have a budget around $45,000 - $50,000.
The IVF process is -----> Day 21 start to 嘳鼻 ** (around 10 days) ------> M come -----> 3rd of blood test -----> Day 7 start to injection -----> Injection for at least 9 days or more (depends how many eggs/size) -----> 打排蛋針 -----> 抽蛋 ----> 放胚胎 ------> 塞藥或打安胎針 (around 14 days) ----> check result
** some sisters will take pills or injection rather than 嘳鼻 (decided by doctor)
From the above process, it's around 2 months duration.
Wah..... so long ga... looks pretty tough at your schedule
Dont know how to arrange all those injection dates, coz i work in Central dont think i can take that much leaves..... (also i prefer to save the leaves for eggs to 著床)... do we have choices on the times?? ie, b4 work or after work or even lunch time...
i'm sure i'll be asking tonnes of questions once started or post my feelings hope it's gonna be a good one...

The price is very cheap, I spent around 75K & doing the same things, how long did you queue up? Two years? I am waiting the QMH's public, but the 1st consultation is the next yr's June. Really long time to wait.
That's good to have 針灸, for sure will increase the chance of 著床. Good luck!
Don't worry, even only have 2or 3 eggs, just be careful & not let it lost. Just like me, I thought even I failed the 1st IVF, I still have other eggs to put, thus, I was not too careful & cause lost the baby. Therefore, just be careful everything will be ok.
Remember to relax all the time, that is the most important to IVF process.
From my knowleage & experiances, remember the following :
1) Relax, don't stress
2) Take more rest, sleep more & well
3) Eat Folic Acid before 3 mths of pregnancy
4) or Vitamin & mineral supplement
5) Can do 針灸 during the 著床
6) Drink at least 2L water everyday to dilute the inside body's poison from the medications.
7) Don't walk too much (Must remember)
8) Don't stand up all the time
9) Don't hang up you hands to get heavy stuffs
10) Don't use cool water to wash hands
11) Eat 花膠 during the whole process
12) Write your problem to this forum to share your problems & worrisome.
13) Eat very 清淡, not 煎炸, b/ dr. said 肝 control 生育/排毒, if the body only have time to do 排毒, then no time to do 生育's works.
14) Don't eat 苦/木瓜,生冷, eat Kiwi everyday to avoid getting cold
15) Don't drink Cool water
16) After ET, ask your husband to make you happy, I saw a research said it will increse the chance of 著床.
17) Don't let your tummy cold
Even though I am not a sucessful case, because some information I was missed & I didn't follow many of these rules.
But I think these information may help you sisters as references & see which point you can adopte.
Hope all sisters can sucess in the coming IVF, of course including myself :)
Anything else ?Any important things to remember?
Post here,then I can put it into the list, next time I will post it on my bed & remind myself all the time.
By the way, I have a very good method to keep your tummy warm. Buy 1 jin of Red bean(yes the red bean we use for dessert), then put it in a cotton bag or you can sew up a towel to form a bag. Your warm bag is done and just put into mircowave oven to cook it for 1-2 min(at about 650, medium high I guess) and place on your tummy. Of course you need to test the bag to see whether it is too hot. If it is too hot, you can use a towel to wipe it up.
The red bean bag is very good especially in winter as you don't have to worry that it will wet your bed.
For doing injection, you may do it by yourself or ask help from your husband. My injection is done by both of my husband and go to our downstairs clinic. So I don't need to go to my doctor everyday for taking injection.
But for blood test or check size of your eggs, you should take some leave. For me, since my doctor consultation is short and location is not near my working place, so I've taken (3) half day annual leave for doctor consultation (for blood test + check eggs' size). Plus I day on 抽蛋 & 1 day after ET.
If your doctor is near your working place, then I think you can go to visit the doctor during lunch time or before they close. Thus, you can save the annual leave & use it after ET ma..
I am in my 5th IUI and will proceed to IVF if I fail this time. Hope that I don't have to go thru the IVF process as it is really a painful and long process.
