My maid and my husband went to an interview on Wed. morning and one of the required document i.e. letter from husband. So the consular told my maid to go back again with the complete document and my hubby was not required to go, since he has already been interviewed.
They left the consulate office without checking throughly on the file. My maid found out that two copy of new DH contract was not in the file. OF course, the consulate would denied the fact that those documents were misplaced by them during the interview procedure.
May I know, if I can make photocopy of the DH contract and sign on the photocopy or I have to get another new set from the immigration Dept. and do it all over again.
As always, for safety's sake, 做兩手準備最安全,do both (get a brand new set of 4 copies from HK Imm Dept and sign, + make photocopy of the 2 copies you have in hand).
Then no matter which one the Indo Consulate asks for on the day to submit the COMPLETE SET, you will have it ready.
My guess is that the Indo Consulate kept those 2 copies for stamping, together with their interview record.
Remind your maid to ask/tell the lady at the G/F reception that ...2 copies of DH contract were not handed back after the interview on xxx date...what should be done now... and see what she says.
My maid did ask them, they said not their responsibility and they did not keep it.
I have called the immigration dept, no photocopy accepted. THerefore, have to fill in all four contract and hopefully don't need to go for interview again.
What else did the Indo Consulate keep ?
Did they just return everything and gave your husband / maid some piece of paper when asking them to submit everything on a certain date, or just asked for certain item(s) to be submitted as supplement ?
Anyway, if I were you I would still do both - get a new set and fill in, plus take the 2 copies of the missing set along. Just in case.
So you finally made it !! Good for you.
Your cost was even less than mine : I had to pay my doc $320 and another $760 for lab test.
I wasn't that bad, after all, right ?
