Hi fanny,

You are so nice! Busy with your thing still help me to think how to send my boy to school. Going to SMC is quite easy. Just take the LRT then the MRT but I still find the traveling time long for small children (about 45mins). Everyday to & fro will be wasting more than an 1hr. Becos there is no school bus from our place to SMC, we will have to send him to school by ourselves. My hubby will bring him to school in the morning (he works in Tsing yi) & I will fetch him home. My girl will need to follow me which I think quite tired for her. It's not just 1 yrs fetching but 3 - 6 yrs. I'm not that hardworking too lah! If he studies in SMC, 1) I will try to find private school bus for him 2) I will need to buy a car to send him but just me know how to drive & I don't like to drive in HK. The road so narrow & many cars 3) employ a maid 4) move out but I really like YL. If I move, I will have to search new kinda for my girl too.

Will you be going for the interview tomorrow? I think you girl speak well than mine. I'm afraid she will keep quiet tomorrow when the teacher asks her questions.

你問清楚你那裡真的沒有校車嗎？我聽講元朗有好多校車出九龍的。有校車的話就不用煩啦，囡囡亦都可以安心起度讀書啦！

Yes. Just like lovelyfrog mentioned. you try to research the school bus or ask school for details. I think it have a school bus to SMC.
I don't know whether my girl can go to intervew or not. If can't, I will give it up.
I'm not sure how the performance of her. Sometimes ok, but sometimes not. Just depends on her mood.

Then I think you will receive the letter from SMC this few days. From the beginning, my choice of school was WKF. I didn't want to apply school in YL. I would rather move out to Shatin & stay near my in-laws which I think I can get help easier. I never think of applying TSL & SMC cos I don't wish to let my son studies extra language. 3 languages are already too many. However, after knowing their good English environment & having many difference races in school, l started to take notice of their good point. It's a school just like Singapore. He can learn to get alone with difference races & not just Chinese. I started to change my mind, these are the 1st & 2nd school I chose for my child. WKF (expensive), Pui Kiu (use Mandarin to teach in lower Pri), DBS (too many expectation from the school & parents need to put in a lot of effect), Lutheran (too new) & lastly SMC (history not so good) so TSL will be my 1st choice. O! TSL too many competitors.

Why do you think DBS wont listen toparents? From how they treated the parents during the interview. I think they are the only school which need the parents to wait for their kids under the sun. See! how long is the queue. My friend told me that children studying there need many extra lessons from outside. DOn't know many or less lah! That means parents need to pay extra $ for that & the school fee for DBS is not low too. I don't have so many $$ on that lah! Heehee ... I need to pay $2900 for SMC I already feel very heart pain becos if I go back Sin I don't have to pay mah! I can have English education too. So, if TSL accepts my son I will go TSL.

SMC itself don't have school bus however we can find our own private bus. I also don't wish to move cos I don't want to do research for my girl again. All this yrs I have been doing so many searching for kinda & primary. SO tired lah!

其實想問問TSL 有幾好呢？我成日聽人講好好。但我一諗起保良局就唔太想讀，因為我都曾經係保良局度做過野，對佢地既內部真的不願置評！

TSL's Sec allocation quite good & their school fee not so high. However, they don't have direct Sec. How about SMC? Do you think they can change their history? Actually I don't know much about their history just that some people told me that their old Sec not so good. Hope that they will do better with their own Pri students.

TSL is so far far away compare with SMC! How will you go there on everyday? Is there provided school bus?

I like SMC and TSL with the same reasons as yours, but then my hubby said education/learning is for 'qualification' and 'good academic result' but not speaking good english, so we also have to know more about where their graduates go lor, very trouble!

Nik will not study in YL primary too thus no matter which school he will be in, I have to check if they have school bus to Mei Foo west rail then I ask my maid to pick him up there then back home via west rail, for sure there is no direct school bus to YL and if even so, they will also pick/send kids for other districts, then your son will go around the world before going school/home

You know a primary+kinda in Sham Shui Po offers school bus to YL but kids have to get on the bus at 6.05am at YL and back to YL at 17.05 while the school hours are 08.00-15.30. Like Zenith now, if I take school bus from home in the morning, nik has to get on the bus at 7.15 and he will arrive school at 8.45, it takes him 1.30 to travel the whole YL (+TSW maybe), now he wakes up at 7.30 and I send him to school but he take school bus home.

re DBSPD, i know what u mean, I just think they are just like TVB or LV, no matter what they do or sell, you will still take it, it's brand! Haha!

Hi lamfanny,

TSL is not so far. It's at 奥运 station one station after 南昌. My friend told me there is private bus nearby our estate.

My girl will board Zenith's school bus at 8:35am & back at 12:10pm which I think is faster than we bring her to school. I think you should let your girl take the bus as well since the weather is getting colder. My girl has running nose today hope she will be alright tomorrow. DOn't wish to change the interview date.

I also need to see their academic result too so I'm still hesitate about SMC.

Yup! I know this as well therefore I will not let my son take the school bus if the traveling time is long too. I will rather move out. And I really don't want my girl to travel in & out with me.

Where do you stay? How come your boys board the bus so early?

We are in YL but not in the town centre, it's Kam Tin, very near to the "Kam Tin Country Club"

It's far from the town centre indeed, we are close to Kam Sheung Road west rail (not in walking distance tho).

囡囡星期六in 完萊茵, 她可答晒老師所有問題, 但很奇怪雖然我填國際班為first choice, 但整個interview 老師都沒有用英文問她, 所以我估計當時國際班已full了 (我是最後一批in的). Lamfanny, 你囡囡的interview 是用中文還是英文?

我也是用中文interview, 亦是選擇國際班. 但我諗唔會full掛, 因為有個老師同我講下個月又一批小朋友in 喎. 其實當日已經人山人海, 可能07豬仔出生率奇高啦! 可惜, 我地無緣認識, 早知叫你戴朵玫瑰花大家相認啦!

我聽講佢女校時好一般，最近口啤好左好多，小朋友可以操到流利既英文但樣樣都講錢。我老公話佢識得有人起smc度做，我已經叫佢幫我問下確實既情況，有消息再話比你知。不過如果冇校車的話就真係要諗諗，因為我囝囝係mummy湊的，我地住得好近，冇理由叫埋我mummy搬。TSL 我應該唔會諗，一來我唔鍾意保良局，二來又唔係一條龍。
