xother,
I highly recommend you to get a "changing pad" and change your baby on the counter (in the bathroom), rather than do it in the bed. I did it in the bed with my younger daughter initially as I was sleeping with her in the basement (just so that it won't wake my elder daughter). In a few days, my back hurt soooooo much.
I quickly got the change pad from Toysrus and put in on the washroom counter. It worked much better.
YukiMommy,
My toilet has no space to put any changing pad and if I put a changing table, then I cannot move around. Yes, I will buy a changing pad but use it where ever as we are a 2-level town house. I will bring it up and down as I prefer the light weight one. It is about $25 + taxes, but thinking if I have to buy a hard wood one which can put on the top of the baby bed. Any advice?
I understand it may not as good as doing it all in the toilet, but it is very difficult to add extra furniture into a small house.
My bed is higher than normal as my mattress is 12" height plus the bed, so I guess it should be ok to change the diaper as long as there is a pad underneath, plus we will have a water proof mattress protector to cover the mattress, I hope everything work fine.
your OB doesn't need to fill in the form. Once you receive your ROE from your company, you can file the EI application online. But still, you need to drop off the original ROE at the Human Resources office.
I know what YukiMommy said. I did the changing at the bed last time, but my back hurts a lot. I have a changing table and help a bit. Actually, you can get a removable changing table put it on the crib. My friend gave me one before.
PoohPoohMaMa,
My baby will sleep with me and I will have a single bed next to my bed, so no crib at upstair anyway.
Downstair, I am planning either put him in carseat or rocker chair, so baby crib may not be set up fully as I may only set up one wall on the side in order to put him in and out easily.
To change diaper, I can use the window platform or just on the carpet to change diaper. normal changing pad is cheaper and with hardwood one is more expensive.
My sister used to change diaper and dress up all in the bed for her 2 sons and it seems nothing happen to her. I dont have any changing table in the past and I guess it should be fine. otherwise, I just buy it if I cannot stand it.
ckkwkl,
no. I am too busy right now as preparing my new baby coming and taking care of my daughter. My husband has to do the tax form soon and we have our citizenship test by this coming TUE.
I may wait for the new born and get all the quote in one time and decide.
Plus my husband just receive a bonus which allow us to travel most main tourist attractions in Vancouver for free, so we will not be free in most weekend plus I have to take my daughter to swim, ballet/jazz and tropoline on SAT morning till 2pm.
They come in bags (just like cow milk), or 1L bottle. You can find them in the organic section in Loblaws, Dominion, Longos and Michael Angelo. Sometimes, you can find 1L size in No Frills too.
Loblaws, Dominion, Longos and Michael Angelo are big store like Costco or little shop? Because I'll travel to Vancouver this summer and would like my son to try this. I'm not sure whether Vancouver also have these shops since I only knew Costco, Walmart, Superstore, Shopper Drug Mart, Saveway.

congratulation - it is fast - only 6 months for your citizienship test... is that the reasonable waiting time for the citizenship test, then what to do after the test?
unkuku,
Yes, I saw Superstore has goat milk as well as many different type of milk and you may want to try them all.
Doggie, I dont know if this is short or long for waiting period, but after that, we are done. Tomorrow will be the test and we should know the result in few weeks time. If we pass, we will be invited to take the oath and I hope it will be on 1JUL, or if we fail, then they will inform us to take an oral test. From the web site, it said there is 20 multiple choice and I must have 12 correct. Hope everything is fine as my husband really looking forward for that.
doggie,
How are you recently? Do you get along with you MIL and did she do anything with your husband?
Are you planning to apply your citizenship or you still want to hold for a while?
My due date is on 20JUN and my tummy is so big now. I bought 3 maternity clothes from HK from my last pregnancy but none of them fit me anymore. My tummy is just too big! Now I have to buy another 4 pieces as I assume I still have 2 more months to go.
We are almost done for all shopping as we just spend $1000 at Ikea yesterday for a single bed and other stuff!
Luckily my husband recently got his bonus and salary raise plus he received the excellent service award finally. But for that, he only get a gift card for $150 and they also take the taxes on it...can't believe the reward is so tiny for such prestige award!
congratulation to your husband's achievement in work. mind my asking what is the % increase for your husband.
in my end here, my job is sort of save (till end of the year) so I do have my increment (for a big 1%). I used that for taking MIL and SIL out for dinner and dim sum... and use up most of it already.
SIL never works in Canada, she still have the concept thinking when I said increment - I am talking 10%+ (like those day back in HK)... just can't explain to her the % here is pretty low...
I used to live with MIL before I moved to here, so no big deal, but just because she got diabetic, and need to be watch for the diet... which she does not like (keep saying - I "watch" her so tight and closely) and not feel that happy...
for me, just thinking I am doing my job, and keep reminding her don't eat this, don't take that... now just act like I am her mom... :-P :-P
by the way, when you read this message, most likely you finished your test, tell me more about those...
doggie,
yes, I just came back from the test. It is just 20 questions and I need to get 12 right and all are in mulitple choice. After the test, all have to wait for a short interview and ours are very simple. Basically the officer wants to see you in person and double check all your document. They asked my husband most questions such as what job he does and has he left the country before. Mine is very simple, how is the test and has I ever left the country. I think it is just to test whether you speak english and we finish everything in an hour only. If I pass, then we will receive another letter in 4-6months time to attend the ceremony. If not, the letter will schedule you to have another interview and it said usually it comes only if you have extremely low scores or problems in your document.
My husband salary is about 3% increase from last year plus extra bonus. In fact, his bonus is higher than 3% and it came in one shot! Now all gone as our credit card bill is very high due to my brother's visit and the new stuff for baby!
