My son is asking us to buy lego set for him to play. May I know which lego set is more appropiate for a 3 to 4 yr-old kid to play ? The lego class that he is taking now, really stimulates his interest in lego..

Adrian媽媽,

Take a look at official Lego site (www.lego.com) ==> Shop
Then note the product nos. Usually available in HK at US$ x 10..
If you are NOT worried that Adrian will ask you to buy EVERYTHING, can consider letting him choose from a particular range.

If Adrian is 4, should buy the smaller Lego, i.e. Creator, bricks. No point in spending $ on the larger duplo which you will drop in 1y's time.
Also ask him which set he is playing with in his Lego class and see if he wants the same set.
There is a basic set (a flat box) around $299 max.
But MUST have somebody to supervise 100% and ensure that he doesn't put any in his mouth. Warning alone is not enough.

There is a range called "City", lots of things.
Another box for building red cars which you can buy with discount if McD member.

I saw 20% off in Sogo last week.
Or go to PTU (教協) even cheaper px.
TRUs sometimes cheap when particular items are on sale but NOT otherwise.

That set of Lego comes under "educational Lego", 1 single supplier in HK, vvv expensive, address in CheungShaWan.

Can build a moving robot with this set, some electronic parts.

Kevin had tried one lesson at Children Technology WS a year ago. The lesson was quite interesting but too expensive.... $200/hour plus membership fee!!

Think I can own and build more lego at home if I use the tuition fee to buy lego instead.

I found a Mindstorm set in Kornhill Jusco, $2xxx.
The box is vvv old, I think they may have new set.
You need to look up, on top of the racks, in Lego area.
Also found in TST TRUs.
