It\'s bit harsh if the company wouldn\'t let the staff to take sick leave or other leave just because they newly joined the company. Every staff is entitled to sick leave and annual leaves upon employment starts.if the person leaves the job before 1 year or contracts end etc,company could then deduct the extra time off (not sick leave) they took by proportion.
Not sure about the intention of this post but it sounds quite pointless and harsh as some people may just get sick or pregnant or anything happens soon as they got a new job..life is unpredictable afterall.
