yup smart cars r just toooooooo cute...luv it..although i am not getting it becuz it's just not practical...that's why i called it my "dream" car.
sorry about your small car accident..volvos r really safe but their suv is kinda on the expensive side..i'd rather spend it on lexus...

I have driven both the prius and hybrid camry, civic as well just not a hybrid one. they're all very nice. i'm particularly impressed with hybrid camry as I never liked camry so much thought it was a bit older for our age..hehe. but turns out it's comfortable, nice and quiet and good mpg. Prius is definitely smaller.

I've seen smart a few times in the west coast as well. but heard from my husband(he's in auto biz) it's not very safe. But of course super duper cute..

I like the look of the smart car too but probably won't get one since it's not safe (imagine if you got hit from other cars, you will be sandwiched).

I guess camry/accord maybe better than civic/corolla on the "safety side" as the former are a bit bigger. I have a small Acura SUV and I like it (despite the gas part - and it's turbo engine). It doesn't seems to be hard to park as well. It came with backup camera and to me, it's a must-have to drive a SUV/higher cross-over. Otherwise it's hard to see anything from the lower-back behind the trunk area when you back up etc. Few days ago, I watched from the news that a guy backed up his car (I think it's a truck) and knocked down his 2-yr-old. The little boy went out from the garage/side door and he is dead now. :(

I think the lexus hybrid is not bad tho I prefer something not as tall. If Acura has a hybrid then I will probably get one. I just love Acura. :)

my c6 has an acrua mdx and is over 80,000 miles but it's still going smoothly.....he doesnt even wanna give up the car cuz he loves it so much. it's roomy especially in the 3rd row seat compaing to the highlander. do you have a rdx with turbo? i saw it once and i luv it too although i think it's too small for me cuz it's only a 5 seater. japanese car is good cuz u wont notice the difference even if going over 70 mph comparing to the european cars & the interior is more luxury in mho.

We are okay. The accident was a small one but it damage my hubby's car. He needs to change the bumper and have the back trunk fixed. His friend owns a auto shop and he told us that it may cause around $2K including parts and labor to fix it. Luckily, we did not drive our Nissan Quest that day. Otherwise, we may need to salvage the Nissan and buy it back from the insurance company. My hubby said that there's no way that our Nissan would be fine if it's hit by a Volvo SUV.....well, now a Volvo hit a Volvo lor..... In 2006 Christmas, we already lost our lovely Toyota Tercel....we just be so unlucky all the times. It's the 3rd times that our Volvo was hit and every accident was caused by careless or stupid drivers:-(

A similar accident happened 1 years ago. A father knocked down his 3 years old daughter as he backed up the car to his gargage. He did not notice that his daughter followed him and stood in between his car and the gargage. He was the friend of my colleague. Almost the same time, another father was supposed to take the son to daycare. However, he forgot and left the son in the car for almost the whole day. It's so hot that his son was suffocated to death. The baby's only 10 months old. All these are so sad and we keep reminding ourselves not to do something like this. One of my previous coworkers had once left her daughter in the car which was parked at a BART station. She answered a phone call after she parked the car and totally forgot that her daughter's still in the car. She took BART to work and several hours later, someone spotted her daughter in the car. Luckily, she left her car window opened a little bit and her daughter was alright.

Yeah, I have the RDX. I waited for this car for a while (I got excited for the prototype from the car show pic) and I needed to wait for a month after I placed the order before it arrived. I was "lucky" at the time that I only paid MSRP to get the car without any dealership-installed accessory. There are 3 Acura dealership close to my house and the other 2 dealership add a lot of the accessories and "forced" you to buy it or they add "premium $" on top of the MSRP when you order the car. It was a bit crazy. Anyway, coz I had a 2-door sport car at the time and it was kinda inconvenient to put baby in the back so I kinda go ahead for the RDX and didn't wait for longer (it will be cheaper if I wait for couple more month after it was out).

Technically, the RDX is not really a "Japanese" car coz it's made in Ohio. :D Though because of the Turbo enhine, it really go "zoommm" and you won't notice the acceleration and when you look at the meter, it's 80mph+ already. I tried the car at 100-110mph (some remote long stright highway) and the ride was still very smooth and kinda stable. The interior also kinda nice. I checked out the Mercedes ML's and Porsche Cayenne's dashboard & the GPS buttons etc and I was kinda turned off by their design!

I only have 1 kid and I don't plan on having any more so I think a 5-seater is fine for me. :) Actually for the value (if I ever want to sell the car), I should have get the MDX because it was actually cheaper at the time. I got the RDX 2007 and it was more expensive than the MDX 2006 (the MDX 07 re-design model was out a bit after the RDX 07). Also, the MDX is a bit bigger and I wasn't sure how well I can handle it. :D My first car was that 2-dr sport car and it's compact and very low. So, I thought I will transition to the RDX first and see how it goes. Now, I am so used to driving the RDX (I love the view coz it's higher!) and I feel weird to drive back my 2-dr sport car now (I let my hubby drive my old car).

I guess if there's no accident, I will probably keep this RDX for quite a while. I guess maybe 10 years later, I can get another sedan when my son no longer need to sit in any carseat. :D

Yeah, it's just sad to always see those news. It was either ppl knock down the kid when they back up, or they totally forget about the kid inside the car. :(

hi~ 大家好呀~
呢兩個星期我都有去睇車,
真係睇到眼都花呀~
今日我去左NISSIAN 同 TOYOTA睇,
架Prius 都唔錯, 不過, 我妹夫話呢種車都係新出品,
唔知第時既維修費貴唔貴, 雖然話慳油,
但就比起corolla & Matrix貴好多囉~
咁又好似幾係既, 1來我都D技術又唔係咁好,
2來我都係用黎湊仔返學放學OR去買下餸,
無咩必要買太貴既車, 同埋我亞姨話遲D我搬出去住既話,
都要將架車泊外邊, 叫我買D平平地既,
揸得過就算個D喎~
所以, 我都係睇番corolla 同matrix,
matrix既車尾箱就好似可以裝多D野,
不過, corolla就好似坐得舒服D,
另外睇左佢地架scion 既XB,
個款就好似麻麻地, 但內籠都幾闊落,
同埋車尾箱既容量都比matrix 大D,
三架車既價錢都係差唔多,
大家有無咩野意見呀??

之後去左Nissian睇, 個sales話問我要5要買2手車,
佢話07年既Altima都係大約2萬蚊左右喎~
但我妹話兩萬蚊不如買架細少少既新車,
咁睇左Altima 同sentra兩款車,
我覺得好似同corolla差唔多咁,
價錢都差不多~
我妹話下個月買車會加稅, 所以,
叫我買車既話, 今個月就好去買,
如果唔係下個月買又要俾多D稅又貴D喎~

yup mdx is alot bigger than rdx. i can hardly manage mdx cuz it's so wide..i have a 04 ml350 and i regret having it. i got it probably cheaper than ur rdx cuz i bought in 05...my c6 got this car for me cuz my maxima was hit by some stupid driver. so i told him i need a suv with 7 psg seats but not too big. forget about the brandname.i almost went into an accident on local driving 40mph..it went zigzag..can u imagine, i almost hit a lampost...2nd, the brake light fell off twice on top of my head when i opened up the trunk...3rd use alot of gas. seriously might be 10mph. 4th. if u need to change the cds. u need to do it in the back.......
i wanna trade in for something else. might be lexus or newer model. acura has great resell value. i cant drive a sedan now cuz i am used to driving a suv..just luv it although i dont have the backup camera like u gals....

how could those parents leave their kids in the car and forgot about it ?? it just doesnt make any sense to me...i have a suv but i dont have the backup camera so i kinda backup very slowly to make sure no one is there haha...volvo's suv is expensive...i'd rather spend it on something else. although a minivan is great for a family car but it doesnt look cool..we'd rather have a 7 psg suv cuz we are not gonna be seating in the back anyway and wont fel the difference ahha..
