I have a cat also and did hold him when I was carrying my twin boys. Just that I didn't clean his litter box and washed my hands after holding him every time. He slept with us also during my pregnancy. Now my twin boys are 11 weeks old la and everything goes well. I feel bad for my cat though coz we did lose some attention on him after babies were born; but he was very understanding and caring, just a little upset during the 1st month and tried to go to babies' room all the time.
Now he's so much used to the enviornment, i.e. family with two additional members. Sometimes my cat would jump up to the sofa and smell my boys' feet when I was feeding them...very cute. Please don't give up your cat ar...ho charm ga !
