lsl,
My little girl same as yours, she also 21 months now.
She was infected by "ma chan" 5 days ago.She can't eat anything because those "ma chan" were in the mouth too.So her lip and togue were all "fei chi",she
felt pain when she was eating or drinking,so the
worst time is that she can't drink all the day too.
But she's get better now because she is much better
now and she can drink some milk now,but the solid
food not yet.
My mother was brought my girl to see the "Chinese
Doctor" and made some chinese drugs to her but
she vomitted all out after she drunk those chinese
drugs .Afterwards,I saw she can't stay in this stage for long time(no food>vomit>sleepy>cry for long
time>no water>...)So I brought her to see the western doctor on last Sat.The Doctor said she just infected by "ko nui sing ping dok",it's selfimiting,
no drug to be needed,so that I just give her some some panadol for painkiller.
My girl is 27 mths now. But since she is a "large size" baby, she weighs quite a lot at 34lb.
Nobody believes that she doesn't like to eat since she is so big. The fact is that we keep on trying to feed her even when it takes long hours. She would take more than 1 hour to drink 5 oz of milk and then vomit it all out. It also happened that she drank only 7oz of milk in a whole day. I still remember that when she was still 6~7 months old, we would feed her five times a day and she would vomit 5 times!! One can imagine that we spent easily 10 hours on feeding everyday.
Those days were nightmares. We have seen many doctors and paediatricians but they couldn't help.
Now my girl is very good at drinking milk (no need to chew/bite) but she is very bad at eating solid food. One day she likes bread and finish a slice of bread very fast. We think she likes it and give her bread again the next day and she would refuse to eat.
To solve this eating problem, we heard from some friends/mummies some advice and plan to follow it. We would limit the feeding hour to just 1 hr and if she doesn't finish feeding within 1 hr, we will take the food away but not give her anything else until the next feeding time. of course we will still give her water to drink. We will have to be tough and not give her any food even when she is hungry and complains. They say within a week the child should understand that he/she needs to eat when it is eating time and there won't be snacks around when he/she is hungry. We have not carried out this plan yet because we don't want the maid to do it - God knows what the maid will do, may be the maid will not give anything to the child at all! So we plan to do it during the maid's long holidays.
But your immediate concern now is the health of your daughter. If she seems too weak to walk, it is quite serious. Most likely she is sick and the illness worsens her eating problems. Just see what the doctor/paediatrician says. For my little niece, she didn't eat or drink for more than a day and the hospital gave her glucose dripping to give her some nutrients and fluid.
All my best wishes for you and your daughter.

Hi justjust,
My daughter same as your bb, I think you are the one know and understand my feeling, how many weight of your bb?
i understand your feeling, it is very very hard to see the baby didn't eat anything! the doctor same to said she just infected by "ko nui sing ping dok".
how come your baby have "ma chan", you didn't bring her go to injection?
果個係政府嘅兒科醫生,我囡囡次次都去搵佢,佢重細心過d private doctor 好多好多.
就係因為咁多隻藥,所以餵咗佢3次先成功,頭果兩次嘔哂!
仲有唔記得話你知佢有cough, running nouse and a little bit fever! but this is the first time she refuse to eat all the things.
