Not sure why... I like to use 70-200mm to take my son's pictures recently even though it's heavier and bigger (in size). maybe "older" now...do not want to do too many exercise...
If I use 24-70mm... I need to follow my son's action and it's very hard for me to take pictures for him... (his action is usually out of my control)... Everytime, it seems that I "played" 2 hours badminton after that...
If I use 70-200mm... it's easier for me to take pictures for my son...
However, I think "such long distance" is really depends on situation (is it a sunny day or indoor)... If it's indoor activity, I think I'll use 50mm F1.4 or 24-70mm.
Normally, I do not use 1.4x Multi at this moment (maybe try it later)...
I totally agree with you, I start to shoot RAW recently and found out my "generic" transcent 512mb card is slow, and that red light (read/write to the cf) is always on...
I read an interesting article in Maximum PC (June 2004) magazine, they tested Sandisk ultra II, Kingston Elite, Lexar 40x, Microdrive. The Sandisk ultra II out perform all of them. Surprisingly, microdrive is not that bad.
